Summary: Touch keypad is very insensitive. Pads either do not respond to touch or do so incorrectly. To use for desired cook time: push pads for Timer - 4 - 5 - Start. When it gets it wrong, push Cancel pad and try again. In frustration I somethings just push a 1 or 2 minute instant-on button and wait for the desired time to elapse and push Stop. Have had many microwaves and this is the most difficult to operate.

Summary: Do not buy total junk, first the door will not open you have to pick up on the bottom of the door and push in the button at the same time to get it to open and now the control buttons lock up and you cannot cancel or clear, total junk bad thing is I not only bought a GE microwave but a high end stove and refrigerator, I regret them all.
Summary: When our old microwave went out, we went to every major appliance center before choosing a new one, because the features are so important. We chose one that we loved, but something went wrong and within three months, it developed a problem. Unfortunately for us, that happened around Christmas, when the pickings were slim because shoppers were buying willy nilly. The replacement microwave ended up being this one, from GE.
Summary: This gets two stars because functionally, this is a great microwave. I really like GE's use of the instant cook times (automatic 1 minute for hitting #1, 2 minutes for hitting #2, etc.) and it cooks/defrosts well. Popcorn is pretty evenly cooked for a smallish micro. The HUGE flaw, though, is that there is no glass on the inside of the door. That means the metal grill that prevents the microwave energy from escaping into the room is exposed to the food being heated.
