Summary: Ha GE repairman twice in the first week.unit was delivered with a part inside that should have been installed at the factory. The part was broken. I suspect I received a returned unit or a factory reject.
Summary: I just bought this microwave to replace a 10 year old predecessor model, the JES1851. I think that one would have lasted much longer but for me. In the first month that I had it I melted a bottle of honey in the microwave. Very unfortunately, there was a tiny bit of metal remaining on the neck of the bottle that I hadn't noticed remaining from the seal that was peeled off. The microwave arced and started a hole in the wall and kept arcing.
Summary: Microwave ovens have become almost a commodity: they all work the same, they all do the same job and they all cost about the same. I chose this one because its dimensions exactly matched one that fit a particular space in my cabinet. It certainly works well, does everything it is supposed to do. I'd give it five stars, but it is so unexciting, I can't really get that worked up about it.
Summary: This product comes out of the box and the ultimate failure -- the power cable is mangled. After going through several different microwave models and trying to find one that fits in my space is like looking for a needle in a haystack. So I was stuck w/ this model. You can tell the door is made of cheap plastic that probably won't last even a year.

Summary: I am extremely disappointed in this product. I had a GE Microwave for 15 years and NEVER had a problem or replaced a part. After 15 years, it just decided not to work anymore. Rather than fixing it, I threw it out and decided it was time for a new one. I wish I would have fixed my old one! I ordered this brand new GE microwave. I received it the end of July. We went on vacation for 2 weeks in August. At the end of August, it stopped heating.
Summary: I got this microwave with my new home. It lasted a little over 2 years and one morning it just wouldn't heat. It seems to be the magnetron and it cost 80.00 to get GE to come to the house to evaluate it then at least another 150 to fix even tho the magnetron is under warrantee for 9 years. Much cheaper to replace but I have to buy one that fits in my trim kit that cost 150.00. Don't want to have to buy another one of those too. Prior to not working, it was GREAT.
