Summary: Steer clear of Frigidaire and their Gallery series microwaves! We purchased a Gallery series microwave in 2005. It looked nice, and has functioned just fine. However, shortly after the warranty ran out, the glass window in the door detached. On further inspection, one of the cheap, plastic clips that held the glass panel in place had broken off. The fix that was offered to us was to buy a replacement door for about $80. This we did.
Summary: I like the size and options on this microwave however there was a screw missing on the magnetron so the unit made a vibrating noise and I had to call service as soon as it was opened. The one thing that annoys me is on the auto defrost, the unit stops for you to turn the food several times. Other microwaves I've had only stopped once midway. I also wish you could cook and have the timer going at the same time.
Summary: This microwave looks good and works well. When you set it on a lower power setting it does not cycle the magnetron or at least you cannot hear it cycle. One thing I thought was wierd is that the one I got was manufactured in March 2009, thats almost 3 year old! It cooks food great compared to my older whirlpool because food comes out with uniform heat, no hot and cold areas everything is consistent without drying.
