Summary: IDK if Microsoft and Steele are butting heads about drivers. I do know if I was in the market for a new mouse, I would not buy this one again. It's too unpredictable for an MMO gamer. The hardware side has a lot going for it. Laser, macroing, and refined gesturing.
Pros: Works great out of the box, but for how long?
Cons: plan to reinstall your drivers every 3-6 months.
Summary: Other thoughts would to have my thoughts on this show through. I couldn't be more disappointed in this mouse and if it would have let me give a Zero Eggs I would have. I almost never give a review on things New Egg and I have bought a ton of stuff from you guys.
Pros: Look and feels very much like a Intellimouse. DPI Button pretty handy and works as it should.
Cons: This is not a Intellimouse. EXTREMELY JUNKY MOUSE CLICK BUTTONS. My son's stopped working after 8 months of use on the right click. Mine is already getting soft feeling. This mouse tracks Horrible. You can actually let go of the mouse and the pointer will move across the screen itself. Software w...
Summary: This mouse could've been great. Very disturbing that there are so many defective Xai's out there. I f you buy this mouse..keep your receipt. Your going to need it when you Rma it.
Pros: High Dpi , easy reach buttons , comfortable mouse
Cons: Random scroll wheel bug , Dpi changes on it's own , unplug mouse and profiles reset to default, Mouse skips even on the expensive 9hd mousepad. Customer support and products are so bad that they took down their own forums but left a link on their website for everyone to see.
World class mouse, terrible support, bugged macro support software.

Summary: I recently ordered a 4HD directly from their website as the price was a bit cheaper over there. To make a long story short, I was charged, my order was lost in transmission to the warehouse, and when I tried to contact them about the order, I had to wait 4 days to get a response.
Pros: The general functionality of the Xai is nothing short of amazing. 1) I pared mine with the Steelseries 4HD gaming surface and I've never experienced the level of glide and tracking precision, ever. 2) The LCD screen is fantastic for changing settings on the fly without having to alt+tab out of yo...
Cons: 1) The Xai Windows utility is very poor. Firmware upgrades always report as being unsuccessful (though they complete) and the macro editor requires you to reboot the utility after creating a new macro, otherwise you will be unable to apply it to a key. There are few things that scare me more comp...
Summary: I made an earlier review and gave high marks (AMDphreak's review), and for some lame reason, Newegg won't let me edit it. I suspect that I used a different account, but can't figure out what account it was. My final opinion of this mouse is very negative.
Pros: it was very smooth and the mode switcher on the bottom was good. it worked in Linux after a patch in windows
Cons: it worked in linux....after a patch in windows. looks like someone didn't read the HID specification (i'm looking at you, devs), so the device could do anything except move the cursor vertically and horizontally. it is incredibly uncomfortable. i started getting carpal tunnel and decided to sell ...
Summary: I always look up products on Newegg before I buy them, in this case I saw a mouse for $100, specs were great so I though this was probably a safe thing to buy. Oh boy was I wrong.
Pros: - Looks very nice and simple - Feels great in your hand, good grip - Mouseskates - LCD Screen under the mouse (not really a Pros, just looks nice but since your mouse faces down while you use it, its really pointless)
Cons: - Has got a major tracking glitches! Never seen anything like this before! It either gets extremely hard to move, freezes or goes any direction it wants.. - Terrible software! - Unable to bind buttons!
Summary: This mouse would have been my perfect mouse. But the lack of software options makes it less apealing than my old logitech lx8
Pros: Glides very smoothly. 8 buttons, feels nice in hand. High dpi
Cons: Garbage software and support. hardware = nice. Software = fail. Forget this mouse if you want the extra 2 buttons on side, they are useless, because you cant program them to do anything. I wish it had side scroll on the mouse wheel, but I knew that going in. i didnt know the software was so buggy...
Summary: for the price, i would really expect more. dont think ill ever buy another steelseries mouse again. ive had my mx518 for years without a single glitch. if you are a low sensitivity gamer, that demands consistency, and accuracy, i would not recommend this for you.
Pros: Comfortable, smooth, quick dpi change
Cons: Don't know why this is happening, but about once a day the mouse will stop tracking properly, and glitch around for a few seconds. I have it paired with a QcK heavy pad, and ive read on forums that other people are having the same type of tracking issues.
