You don't always get what you pay for.

dschlicks, Amazon
10 August 2014
  • Summary: I went out on a limb buying this mouse, and boy do I regret it now. The mouse weighs next to nothing, which only amplifies the shoddy build quality. The software is useless beyond the ability to set the color of the lights on the mouse, which in and of itself, is also a useless "gee whiz" feature. This has to be the biggest sham currently going in computer mice, and I'm exceedingly embarrassed that I fell for it.

Buggy

InsomniacDesigner, Bestbuy
6 June 2014
  • Summary: Needed a high-resolution mouse for Photoshop work. Don't need it to be a setup hassle, I just need to plug it in and have it work- as 99% of the rest...
  • Pros: it moves the cursor
  • Cons: doesn't always track 100% horizontally

  • Summary: I rma'ed my sensei about a month ago.. I'm now asking for a tracking number or any update about it, but they reply soo slow. Im a little bit upset, I thought they were better vs razer/other company. I was wrong. I bought most of my gaming peripherals to them and I think i might have made a very big mistake. They have good products, but aftersales is bad. I just wanted to warn you guys or anyone buying from them about their after sales support.

The worst, most overpriced mouse

Michael H., Newegg
2 May 2014
  • Pros: None
  • Cons: I have owned many mice, wired and wireless, and this, by far, is the worst I have ever owned. By the second month, pieces started falling off the mouse. Not only that, but it started acting up, and stopped tracking on surfaces that it previously had no trouble tracking on. Overall, way too overpriced for what it provided - this is the last steelseries product I purchase.

Charging Station Turns off Periodically

Jerry, Amazon
30 April 2014
  • Summary: My first Sensei Wireless had this problem, where the charging station turns off periodically and I have to turn my mouse on and off for it to reconnect. This second mouse has the SAME problem. I know it's not my computer because it happens to multiple computers.

Works great for a while

joshua M., Newegg
23 April 2014
  • Summary: tl;dr - Its a good mouse if money isn't really an issue, there is no getting used to it. It's shaped a lot like a 5 dollar microsoft mouse but with way more teflon. In this case it is not very long lasting.
  • Pros: The mouse fits my hand well. The previous mice I've used have been a logitech g9, g9x, coolermaster xornet, and now this. The pads on the bottom are plentiful, was suprised to see that even for a rubberized mouse this wasn't cheaped out on. I use the steelseries mouse pad too. The feel with the mouse pad is very smooth, it isn't glove like but its good.
  • Cons: I didn't buy it from newegg. So nothing against newegg but I did buy it brand new retail and I'd expect better durability than this. It's never suffered any mistreatment and now turns off randomly. Has been transported in my backpack with my laptop maybe 20 times.

Extremely buggy, here's my experience thus far including entire "support" history with Steel Series (Updated Yet Again)

vincent tuminello, Amazon
18 April 2014
  • Summary: Update: I gave it a month, the mouse is unpairing 2-3 times a day. Just now I attempted to open the StealSeries 3 engine and all it does is sit in my taskbar. Restarting doesn't fix it. So now I have to uninstall and reinstall the software for the fourth or fifth time losing all of my settings in the process. I am really good at setting it up now as I have to uninstall the software at least once every three weeks.

Lifespan of a mayfly

Anonymous, Newegg
9 March 2014
  • Summary: When you pay almost $100 for a mouse, you expect it to be a high quality product. Most of what you are paying for here are the superfluous gimmicks built into this mouse. 16.8 mil colors--cool, LCD screen is kind of cool, but it is located on the bottom of the mouse. Who looks at the bottom of their mouse anyway? It looks sleek, but it didn't take me long to start running into problems. It started with the mouse no longer being recognized by the steelseries engine.
  • Pros: Color customization, LED screen (I guess?) customization in Steelseries engine
  • Cons: Cheaply built for being a $90+ mouse, steelseries engine, short lifespan, the silver finish rubs away rather easily. Steelseries engine (the customization level is no longer a pro when you cant access it because your mouse is incompatible.) Feelings of shame because you paid $90 for this garbage, the time it takes to go to the store to buy (or wait for delivery of) a new mouse

Hardware Design Issue, avoid at all cost

Nilaozi, Amazon
24 February 2014
  • Summary: I made the mistake of ignoring the negative reviews and bought the mouse. Now I'm paying for it. After 2 months of light use, it completely broke. No LED light, no response what-so-ever. The thing I noticed is that the bottom of the broken mouse becomes very hot when it is connected to the computer and I'm guessing there is a short circuit some where inside. Apparently many people are experiencing the same problem which means that the mouse has a flawed circuit design.
