  • Pros: Comfortable, precise, modular... everything you want in a gaming mouse without too many bells and whistles to get in the way. I use this to play competative LoL and other games.
  • Cons: The only complaint I can make is the mouse wheel and sensitivity selector. They seem to be the failing point of the mouse. I'm currently buying my 3rd or 4th Rat3 . Mice don't last forever, especially when you beat them as much as I do. But the fact that both mice failed the same way could be say...

Good mouse

Charles G., Newegg
7 December 2014
  • Summary: This is a good entry level gaming mouse but not for the hardcore gamer.
  • Pros: Programmable, Light weight, nice looking, braided cable, gold plated USB plug. There are four DPI settings you can change to easily 450, 900, 1,800, 3,500 DPI Three programmable buttons with three profiles you can switch to that gives you nine separate commands that you can quickly access. The so...
  • Cons: The manual isnt very good needs to be better. The software is not for hardcore gamers who want more fine tuning of the settings.

Solid Performace

Joseph S., Newegg
4 December 2014
  • Summary: I have used this mouse since late 2009, and it has reliably served its function. I would recommend this product if you are a semi-casual gamer looking for a durable companion.
  • Pros: I have owned this mouse for over 4 years. It has survived through two different computer builds, and I have always been happy with it. Some of the things that have always stood out to me were: button responsiveness, excellent form factor for my hand, and durability. I used to use this with my gam...
  • Cons: There is a slight drift of the cursor when the mouse is sitting still, not sure if this is due to the mouse pad I use. Despite this I have never had a problem making my shot in a FPS, or misclicking, the sensitivity and accuracy of the mouse balance this con out. When my computer would wake from ...

  • Summary: To add to my existing review I just wanted to mention that when I was talking about high dpi sensors, I was referring to the majority of high dpi LAZER sensors out there. There are many near flawless OPTICAL sensors out there and many have high dpi. Just wanted to make this clear :).
  • Pros: "Has one of the best sensors in the market right now(ADNS 3090). Has a really good shape for a fingertip user like me. Works with pretty much every hand grip style though. The shape is customizable as the back portion can be pulled back but to do this a screw has to be taken off. Has great switch...
  • Cons: .Quality: generally cyborg mice aren't built extremely well but it is decent imho. One of the side buttons has become less responsive and needs a lot of force to push. "Mouse feet: They are thin and wear out very fast. Price: This mouse is really expensive. Braid: The braided cables braid is too ...

  • Summary: The sensor in the rat 3 is excellent and is nearly flawless. It trumps the majority of the sensors out there that has higher dpi(btw higher dpi does not equal a bettor sensor, most high dpi sensors on the market now have a host of issues especially the philips twin eye sensor..

  • Summary: Had this mouse since end of August, up til now, after almost 3 months of use, the left click button broke. I had another mouse(thank God) for back-up. My back-up mouse is still going strong after 4 yrs, (Razer Orochi).

User Review

Jonathan R., Newegg

  • Summary: I found the issue! Basically the driver it downloaded when I first plugged it in is NOT a Mad Catz driver, but instead a Microsoft driver. All you have to do is download the correct driver from Mad Catz's support website, then run the .exe! Then you can customize your mouse to your heart's content!
  • Pros: Alright, I'm no expert on gaming mice. In fact, this is the first one I've owned. I'm used to wireless Logitech mice. But here we go! First off, the mouse comes in a nice, clean looking box with art of the mouse and a strange looking cyborg rat thing on the side. When you remove the sleeve, then ...
  • Cons: I booted up the Profile editor, and....it said controller not detected. I was one confused fellow! It was connected and working just fine! In fact, I had just spent an hour shooting AI with it! I wondered what possibly could be wrong! Mad Catz's website had nothing on it with which to help me! I ...

  • Summary: Bought from Bestbuy a few weeks ago. So far, a good solid gaming mouse, and has improved my gaming ability - 10 fold. I bought this mouse because of what I heard of it being extremely light; (I cant stand heavy mice)how it looks, and lastly because of it's customizability.
