Summary: I have had the ROCCAT Kova+ in my possession now for something close to two weeks. The first few days didn't take too much getting used to, as did other higher DPI mice I have bought in the past. My hands were pretty much ready for that already. What did take some getting used to would be the Easy-Shift button and remembering the second setting for all the seven additional buttons offered once the Easy-Shift is pressed, just like on a keyboard!
Conclusion: The Roccat Kova[+] is a great light-weight mouse packed full of functionality. In terms of comfort and tactile feedback, it may not be the best in the price range, but it certainly holds up its end of the bargain in terms of performance. While optical sensors may be inferior to laser in certain conditions and surfaces, in general a 3200DPI optical sensor is accurate enough to work on most surfaces and performance is the equivalent of a laser mouse.
Cons: Configurations takes over 40 seconds to apply, Unable to customize weight, Hard to clean dust off and keeps finger smudges, Auxiliary buttons are not shaped ideally and offers too much resistance for critical macros
Excerpt: Almost perfect. Finally, I have been able to get my hands on a ROCCAT mouse. I have heard about them and seen pictures of them and been told many wonderful things about them by friends in the gaming world. However, until now I have never managed to get my hands on one. It was worth the wait! The ROCCAT Kova [+] is an updated version of the very popular ROCCAT Kova, kind of Kova turned up to 11.
Pros: Very comfortable. Loads of options. Great looks. Accurate.
Cons: No dedicated DPI or Profile switch. Light. Side buttons are easy to hit by accident.
Conclusion: The Roccat Kova + is a master of a mouse. It takes all the good bits of the original Kova, combines them with some of Roccat’s latest innovations and gives you a mouse that’s everything you’d want; if you’re a claw gamer like me. While I still might say that the Kone + is a mour feature filled product – it certainly has stronger specifications – that type of rodent is built for the palm gamer, those with giant mits; the Kova + is for us smaller gamers, or those with claw...
Pros: Perfect claw grip design, Good sensitivity, great accuracy, no stutter, Software allows for macros, Easyshift and sound feedback are nice additions, Soft rubber coating fixes original Kova comfort issues
Cons: Middle moust button is a bit stiff to begin with, No interchangeable weights
Excerpt: 3 Flares 3 Flares × Gaming mice are considered by many to be the most important peripheral for gamers as they provide the main interface between game and gamer. So it is imperative that you find a gaming mouse that is well-suited to your gaming style if you want to play as well as you can.
Excerpt: Roccat have quickly established themselves as one of the big players in the professional gaming market, providing excellent quality at a reasonable price point. In June this year we had the pleasure of testing the Roccat Kone mouse, their high end offering with huge customisation options which we rated highly indeed. Then in July we tested their gaming surface the Roccat Taito which was good, but didn't really stand out from the crowd.
