Excerpt: The Roccat Kone XTD is just about as close to perfect as a mouse can be. It fits perfectly in the hand, glides effortlessly on nearly any surface, and looks stunning. Roccat takes a standard 8200 DPI laser mouse, and adds the ability to customize just about every feature.
Summary: I tend to game for about 3 hours or so a day, anything from Diablo 3 to Battlefield 3. This mouse was pretty awesome as I have larger hands and needed something bigger, this mouse fit the bill pretty well. This mouse had a pretty lengthy customization setup in order to get that "just right" feel when trying to find that sweet spot for FPS games, which in my opinion was a major plus.
Excerpt: I recently did a review on the Razer Ouroboros, which I initially loved, but it had some weird tracking issues when changing the DPI, so I returned it and went back to my Logitech G9 for a while. Then I started looking into newer mice, and I stumbled upon the Kone XTD.
Excerpt: The Kone XTD is Roccat’s new flagship mouse, replacing the Kone[+] before it. Offering a market-leading 8200dpi, 576kb of onboard storage and a 32-bit Turbo Core V2 processor, the Kone XTD is more like a brain than a mouse.
Summary: i have had this mouse for about 3 months now it works well when it works, but has tracking issues that are unacceptable in a gaming mouse. Now after 3 months the tracking issue has become so bad the mouse is useless.
Summary: Roccat will NOT honor the warranty of their products. There are alot of highlights on this mouse but none of them matter if the mouse is not functioning correctly. First mouse sent was defective and returned immediately. The replacement mouses scroll wheel began to fail after a few months of use, and got to a point where it was not usable. Both of the mice were the newest revision.
Summary: Do not buy this mouse. I purchased this mouse in December, used it for a few months with no major issues, then all of a sudden, the mouse wheel broke. It spun freely, instead of ratcheting the way it was supposed to. The freely spinning wheel gave no input to the system. So I RMA'd it. Second mouse comes in the mail, and within 5 minutes of use, THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPENS. Absolutely ridiculous for an expensive 'pro gamer' mouse - or any consumer product, really.
Pros: I've been using a regular kone for about 2 years now. Got this for my new gaming rig and it was amazing. Seriously perfect improvments to the original kone.
Cons: mouse wheel broke after 1 month. Mouse did nothing but sit on my desk. My original Kone has been to Iraq and back, dropped, thrown around, and basically been treated very badly. Still using my original Kone it works great
Summary: I can never fault Amazon on any items iv'e ordered before. but this technical abomination is possibly THE worst mouse on earth. Having used many a gaming mouse this was my biggest faux pas. The scroll wheel went mad after a week then went totally off the rails at week 3. the led lights decided to flash like a strobe light.
