Nothing but problems

Stephen J., Newegg
27 May 2014
  • Summary: Great idea, but if you have big hands and/or don't want to baby your mouse, DO NOT BUY.
  • Pros: Cool lighting and effects.
  • Cons: If you have big hands, don't get it unless you like "super claw" type grip. The sensor is terrible. I had to clean it once every few weeks or it would stop moving on the x axis. Now the sensor or something has completely failed. It gets power (it lights up) but is completely unresponsive. The sof...

Malfunctions over time.

Mike G., Newegg
8 January 2014
  • Summary: I got it on sale and I should have used common sense and stayed away from it.
  • Pros: Looks good. WAS precise.
  • Cons: The mouse doesn't maintain consistency. Cursor crawls right across the screen regardless of sensitivity setting.

Razer Spectre Mouse Quality

KEVIN R., Newegg
3 November 2013
  • Summary: Too small a mouse, but this can vary based upon user.
  • Pros: The mouse has a good lighting system, and the software designed for it gives you good customization for its dpi and acceleration. The stiffness of the left click adjustment works perfectly and is a great feature to have.
  • Cons: The mouse has a jittering effect, it will move back and forth each time you go to move it or click it, making it impossible to click on something. Even the slightest force acted upon it will cause this effect. Also if you try to pick the mouse up ever, your cursor will move down about an inch on ...

Awkward shape - not happy with it

Daniel F., Newegg
18 October 2013
  • Pros: It s lightweight and has a high Dots Per Inch (DPI) [read sensitivity] level.
  • Cons: Shape - it does not feel very contoured. The combination of the width and how the buttons extend in a sense down the angled side results in me often right-clicking with my ring finger unitentionally. It gets really bad when I'm moving the mouse right to left. It is so bad that I'm going to get a ...

Wouldn't recommend. But was free.

Crista H., Newegg
20 November 2011
  • Summary: Could be built a little better. Seems like they took the extremely cheap route on this model.
  • Pros: This mouse, small... Fragile... But free none the less. It feels like when you hold it, it's going to break into a thousand pieces. HOWEVER, i got it free with the black widow ultimate keyboard.
  • Cons: Small, feels way too fragile. Razer products on the budget end seem a little too "cheap" in this day in age.

Meh..

Dustin F., Newegg
10 September 2011
  • Summary: Coming from Razer I expected a lot more and better quality.
  • Pros: Good mouse if you just browse the web and basic stuff.
  • Cons: -Feels cheaply made. -Low/Med/High switch is a joke -No drivers to switch DPI or polling -Not really responsive as my DA, and moves on its own

Uncomfortable

R. Bonilla "Chimponaut", Amazon
4 September 2011
  • Summary: A friend of mine got one of these in a bundle with a headset and gave it to me. I was looking forward to using it and it worked great at first. It tracks much better than my previous mouse and was very responsive for gaming.

Cool mouse but has build quality issues

Ji L., Newegg
11 August 2011
  • Summary: The build quality of Razer products has really went down hill, I have the first diamond back mouse from almost 6 years ago and it is still in good working condition, I have this SC2 mouse for less than 1/2 year and the paint is already wearing out. Also, where is the non-slip coating!
  • Pros: -Cool lighting: you can set the light to any color, there are 3 lights you and customize. -Nice and compact -Good Sensitivity and Responsiveness -Finally braided cables
  • Cons: -Very poor build quality for a mouse that initially retail for $70, some of the silver paint is already wearing away, The track feet on the bottom of the mouse is wearing out even though i have always used it on a mouse pad.

hard cable

Benjamin F., Newegg
23 February 2011
  • Summary: This is just another case of over-engineering something that already works. A normal mouse cable would have been fine, but this actually manages to ruin the experience. It reminds me of those spiral phone cords that just get tangled.
  • Pros: It works. DPI is high. So far no skipping.
  • Cons: The cable is hard as a rock. Unlike most mouse cables that can coil, this one just takes the shape of when it was shipped. Its surrounded with some hard fiber instead of rubber/plastic. Because of this, I can barely use the mouse. If i don't get used to it, I'll have to buy another. At least it w...

Bad precision, hold and clicking

Boss, Amazon
5 January 2011
  • Summary: I bought this product with the assumption that it would be great for Starcraft 2. Was I ever wrong. The precision on this mouse is horrible, it was read in the other reviews that a gaming mousepad would help but this only worsened it.
