NZXT's Avatar is a first sign of good things to come. NZXT has delivered a solid mouse that fits both left and right handed gamers but manages to keep a shape that gamers and non-gamers will love. Once the software is refined and updates are released, the Avatar will be a prime contender in the gaming mouse market. Read more

    • 2600 DPI, On the fly DPI adjustment, Adjustable polling rates, Slim and sleek design, 100% ambidextrous
    • Software feels generic and needs to be refined, Chrome buttons throw off theme, Limited user base due to slim design

The NZXT Avatar mouse is really a great product, it took a couple days to get accustomed to it, but after that using it was like second nature. The small size threw me off at first, but now I like it very much, it fits perfectly in your hand and it’s as if it becomes a part of your body. The Avatar does everything perfectly, once you get accustomed to it you’ll find it will become your favorite mouse for everything you do. Read more

    • Excellent tracking on every surface, Right or left hand usage, Programmable, Inexpensive
    • Small size takes a bit to get accustomed to, Can accidentally hit side buttons until you get accustomed to it

We are looking at the first mouse from NZXT - a company typically known for its line of Crafted and Classic series of cases.  NZXT also makes fan controllers and power supplies so it's interesting to see them also take on the mouse market as well.  Over the course of this review we will be comparing mostly to the SteelSeries Ikari Iron.Lady mouse as this is currently my wife's favorite mouse.  We'll see how the Avatar compares and stands up to gaming and other tasks Read more

This may be NZXT 's first foray into gaming mice, but they have produced a solid initial offering. The Avatar seems to mix elements from other popular gaming mice with a bit of NZXT's own innovation to create a recommendable product. The comfort and performance of the mouse are key selling points, but the high level of customization is obviously important, too. Read more

The NZXT Avatar is a great entry into the gaming mouse market. It delivers all the features we are used to from such input devices at this price point. The Avatar offers programmable buttons, which can be assigned with lengthy macros as well. The DPI setting can be adjusted all the way up to 2600 DPI with or without the software. All other functions and tweaking is done through the very solid and fully featured configuration application. Read more

Pros: Stylish, high-performance mouse can work left-handed or right-handed Cons: Not for the overly thrifty Performance: A Features: A Ease of use: A Value: B+ Price: $60 NZXT’s Avatar gaming mouse is to mice what a Steinway is to pianos. This stylish mouse comes with its own CD and user guide. With its cool black matte finish and sleek blue lights that highlight its curves, the Avatar is a decidedly un-mousy mouse. It added a touch of glamor to my cubicle. Read more

The NZXT Avatar is very impressive, especially since NZXT are noobs to the gaming peripheral world. It’s got a good DPI with perfect accuracy and great comfort ratings; though the sensitivity could have been upped to 3200DPI to bring it in line with other top end mice. It’s price point is a little high, and it’s software isn’t as fully fleshed as I’d like it to be as some users would definitely miss the macro abilities, but you can at least remap the extra... This is a great gaming mouse. Feels good, very responsive. It is also a lot more easily customizable than other gaming mice with the included software disc. Most of all, the smaller profile and slender design make this probably the best mouse for people with smaller hands. Read more
