Not impressed.

Lemont, Amazon
28 March 2014
  • Summary: Bluetooth range is not good. If there is ANYTHING in the way, you will lose signal, and sometime it won't come back on it's own and you have to reset the mouse to use it again. When the computer comes back from sleeping it also takes forever to get Bluetooth signal again.

Definitely Not a "Presenter" Mouse

Adam M Nicholson, Amazon
9 June 2011
  • Summary: For general use, generously a three-star mouse; for presentations, a one-star mouse. Presenter/Media Mode buttons are a great advent, and the laser pointer is great for your presentations or pets. However, this is a Bluetooth mouse and suffers from the lag issues associated with all Bluetooth mice.

touchy, doesn't work well

Michael M., Newegg
6 January 2011
  • Summary: I am a fan of MS hardware, but a presenter mouse needs to be plug-and-play - bluetooth prevents this!
  • Pros: laser pointer works well as a cat toy. works with my mac book too. presenter button works too.
  • Cons: bluetooth dongle won't install without admin privileges. included bluetooth dongle has a limited software stack/profiles. egg-like and awkward to hold when presenting. When just using as a mouse, sometimes battery door will shift, causing a lost connection and forcing the user to re-setup the blu...

Good concept, flawed execution

BluJai, Amazon
15 June 2010
  • Summary: Pros: * Bluetooth compatibility (see cons) * Built-in laser pointer * Quality carrying case for both mouse and bluetooth adapter --- the carrying case is extremely well designed * 5-button bluetooth mouse --- very few 5-button bluetooth mice are available; this was a significant purchasing point for...

I hate it

User "User", Amazon
7 May 2010
  • Summary: Microsoft Wireless Notebook Presenter Mouse 8000. I hate it. My major application software are ProEngineer & SolidWorks, which use Middle Button a lot and require smooth / precision cursor. 1.

A decent mouse when it works

KUSOsan, Amazon
22 April 2010
  • Summary: First off, I purchased this mouse to replace an older logitech one. I decided to try out a bluetooth mouse because of all the hype about the range it has over regular wireless products.

Typical MS Support

G. Steiert, Amazon
6 November 2009
  • Summary: Technically correct but completely useless. I got this mouse to use with the internal bluetooth adapter in my notebook computer. The software and documentation are absolutely pathetic. They assume you are going to use the included adapter and offer no help if you choose to deviate at all.

Perfecto Sifuentes, Amazon
8 September 2008
  • Summary: I see now that the price of this thing has gone down dramatically. There are certainly good reasons for that! Let me tell you what i've learn from three month of trying to use this presenter/mouse. I do a lot of presentations all over the world.

Hate

Dana T., Newegg
18 August 2008
  • Summary: When I move the mouse I don't expect to wait two seconds for the cursor to catch up.
  • Pros: It's Bluetooth
  • Cons: Can't point worth a darn. The most expensive mouse I've ever purchased.

Not a good mouse for rugged people

Walter B., Newegg
22 March 2008
  • Summary: contrary to statements in other reviews, you can use this mouse just fine without using the bluetooth dongle included, you just have to install the intellipoint driver. also contrary to popular belief, you can use the dongle for other bluetooth devices without having the mouse present, however on...
  • Pros: This mouse has many features, some of which are unique to this mouse, such as the powerpoint presenter and remote control functions.
  • Cons: This mouse is very fragile, as stated above the scroll wheel is flaccid, but its also fragile and will stop working if dropped. the rubber cover on the wheel is too soft, if you have oily skin, it will absorb the oil over time and stretch out to the point the wheel is not usable unless the rubber...
