Mouse did not work
Dave B, Amazon
7 July 2013
Summary: Could not install software from the disk included with the mouse due to incompatible OS. Running Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. Downloaded proper software online but mouse still would not work. Returned it for refund and installed a Logitech mouse with no problem.
Blocked due to compatibility issues with Windows 7. Beware.

Summary: Amazon says this mouse works with Windows 7. But not on my laptop. The software brings up the message "BLOCKED" due to compatibility issues with my laptop running Windows 7. Now I need to find a mouse that works with Windows 7.
Summary: What can I say? It arrived dead. I can also say this is the second Microsoft mouse I received DOA, in a row. Looks like Microsoft is using its customers as unpaid beta testers -- at their expense (both mice cost me to ship back -- not to mention the long drives to the FedEx depot).
Summary: Microsoft Wireless Notebook Laser Mouse 7000 Mac/Win USB The scrolling wheel froze and stalled from day one. The laser tracking only works on the non-shiny, matte finished, soft based surface of a good quality mouse pad. A hard surface causes many stalls and freezes while on a shiny surface cursor movement is all but impossible to achieve.
being driven insane from the whining sound this thing makes

Summary: Every time I move the mouse or press the button, this thing emanates this buzzing/whining sound. It's absolutely maddening and unusable. Is there a way to fix this? If not this mouse is destined for the trash...
Summary: Purchased this from Amazon on 21 July. Yesterday the left mouse button began making a loud squeaking noise whenever I clicked it. Sounds as if some internal parts are coming into contact. The squeak is loud enough so I don't want to be in the room with it (an amusing concept when trying to use a mouse.) I'll try to get Microsoft to exchange it for one that doesn't squeak, but of course I'll never use it since I no longer trust the product.
Summary: The sensitivity is very limited. Not a great tool for editing where precision is key. This thing is NOT precise. As a matter of fact it the scroll wheel to move to and fro with pages doesn't even work. I was troubleshooting for a couple of hours and am frustrated. That feature was why I wanted this mouse. Ugh! Well, the scrolling feature works great. That's about it for now. I'm asking the seller to replace it.
