Summary: this mouse stopped working within the first few weeks i had it. and when it was working, i didn't care for it too much. the control over the mouse was not smooth enough for me. also, the USB plug is huge! since i always had it plugged in, i was scared that i was gonna accidentally hit it and break my USB port. next i bought a logitech mouse that was much cheaper, worked much better, and had a very small USB plug that barely stuck out.
Summary: I finally wore it out. One foot(slider) came off and the wheel bearing wore out. Precision movement of cursor was easy. Batteries lasted for a long time. Distance from laptop was never a problem. Newer mouse has a much smaller dongle which greatly reduces likelihood of breaking it or damaging the USB port.
Summary: I've used this as my primary mouse for about 4 months, now and it still works flawlessly. I like having a mouse with side buttons for internet navigation. The scroll button (not the wheel) is sometimes a little balky.
Summary: Found this mouse to be well made, a smaller version of the dependable Microsoft desktop versions. Needs a single 2A battery and your on your way. Nicely hidden battery door comes off easily with a fingernail. For traveling, insert USB counterpart in same area to keep them together. The USB R/T is longish and can get in way when moving or setting down while attached to laptop.
Summary: A minus for this mouse: its wheel. When clicking the wheel (e.g.: over a link for opening it in a new tab), the mouse registers also a scrolling action, so you miss the link. This is because the wheel has no resistance. I wouldn't buy this mouse again.
Summary: I previously had a different Microsoft mouse and it worked perfectly. This one once I get the cursor to where I want it starts to wander. Also the magnifying function comes on unexpectedly and then is hard to turn off. Tried all the adjustments and nothing works. .
Summary: Having used the mouse for about a month by now, I am entirely satisfies with its performance. However, it took me some time to get the hang of it. There are so many bells and whistles included in it. For instance, it took me some time to realize that it has side buttons on both left and right side. Until I found out about the right side buttons, it behaved strangely for a while until I was able to program that side to ignore any settings.
Summary: Could not install software from the disk included with the mouse due to incompatible OS. Running Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. Downloaded proper software online but mouse still would not work. Returned it for refund and installed a Logitech mouse with no problem.
