Unusable due to scroll wheel click delay

PABLO M., Newegg
6 September 2012
  • Summary: Scroll wheel button is way too heavy, I don't understand why it takes three times as much force to click the wheel compared to the left & right buttons. Using the mouse for 30 minutes feels like I've been working out my hand.
  • Pros: Comfortable
  • Cons: The scroll wheel click has a delay of ~0.25 seconds from the time the wheel is clicked to the time the click registers on PC. In addition, there is a shorter "stuck" delay when the wheel is released. This might not seem like much but it renders the mouse completely useless. While using Revit & Au...

Desktop 5000 is best for my purposes

Marc M., Newegg
28 June 2012
  • Summary: I bought this as a replacement for a mouse with my existing keyboard/mouse combo Desktop 5000. The rubber on the scroll wheel, as others have pointed out, disintegrated into a bunch of glop inside the mouse. It still works, but likely it won't for long so I bought this replacement.
  • Pros: Minimalist and attractive aesthetics, Nice ergonomics, Good range, Tracks well on strange surfaces
  • Cons: Rubber wears out on scroll wheel Can't pair with existing Wireless Desktop 5000

User Review

Anonymous, Newegg
28 April 2012
  • Pros: Superb tracking, decent comfort, great battery life
  • Cons: Scroll wheel seems nice at first but wears out quickly with heavy daily use; I've gone through three of these mice at work over the last 4 months! It is just a piece of rubber which spins around a solid core, and this rubber bends and distorts over time, to the point where it regularly binds up w...

Oozes oil

Charles N., Newegg
22 March 2012
  • Summary: I bought this mouse (and the compatible keyboard) a year or so ago. Both work well, as expected from a Microsoft product; however, within the past few weeks, the mouse has started leaking, for lack of a better word.
  • Pros: Works well
  • Cons: Oozes oil

Excellent Wireless Mouse

Maurice P., Newegg
9 December 2011
  • Summary: I have not owned the mouse long enough to speak to its battery usage however it is interesting to note that there is an ON/OFF switch on the bottom of the mouse. When your moving the mouse it switches to its High Power mode (Laser gets brighter) and when your not using it it will switch to low power...
  • Pros: * Blue Laser Technology works on many surfaces as advertised. * Maximum range of aprox 30' Line of sight. * Push + Tilt + Scroll Mouse wheel * Built in Storage location for USB Drive * Single AA battery use (provided) * Comfort Fit. I was a little concerned that the mouse would not fit in my hand...
  • Cons: This may not be a con for everybody however the mouse wheel does not click as you attempt to scroll up or down. It was somewhat annoying at first but i've actually learned that i prefer it over the old scrolling clicks. * The 4th button on the left side makes this a Right hand mouse Only. You wil...
