Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 5000

The Microsoft 5000 is a wireless laser mouse that comes in a metallic black color with silver accents. The mouse measures approximately 2.9 x 4.8 inches (W x D) and has an ergonomically sculpted symmetrical design allowing for better comfort and control for both left and right-handed users.

The mouse is equipped with Microsoft’s High Definition Laser technology which delivers a smooth, precise, and responsive tracking at 1000 dpi when used on almost any surface. The mouse features 5 buttons. Apart from the standard left and right mouse buttons, it has a scroll wheel that allows users to navigate through long documents, spreadsheets, and web pages without having to use the on-screen scroll bar. The Wireless Laser Mouse 5000 also comes with a magnifier button located on the right side of the mouse. The magnifier button’s counterpart on the left side functions as a back button which allows for easier navigation between folders and web pages. New functions can be reassigned to all 5 buttons using the included IntelliPoint 5.5 software driver. This software allows users to change the buttons’ functions to a wide variety of alternative shortcuts.

The Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 5000 is compatible with Windows XP (Tablet PC Edition, Professional x64 Edition, Professional, and Media Center Edition), Windows 2000 (Service Pack 4 or higher), and Mac OS X 10.2.8 to 10.3.9. It connects to computers via a USB wireless receiver.

The Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 5000 is powered by two AA alkaline batteries that can last over 6 months.

For help you can view this: http://en.gentoo-wiki.zugaina.org/index.php/HOWTO_Advanced_Mouse If the problem persist, try to send it to the store where you bought it to repair because you shouldn't have any problem with this

This is a very fragile mouse. Many users have complaint about the mouse not functioning well. I would suggest you to try to test it on another PC. If it still does the same thing, install the latest drivers. Note that, this mouse will not work if there’s any interference such as PS/2 device. Hope this will help:
