Microsoft Optical Mouse

Monster-Hardware
29 July 2012
  • Excerpt: About the time I started Monster-Hardware (eight months ago), I also first tried an optical mouse. At the time I briefly considered writing a review for the site. The technology, though, just didn't seem quite ready to go mainstream. The cursor would skip across the screen like a pebble being skipped on a pond. Sensors would burn out after a couple months of use.
  • Pros: Maintenance-free, Good performance, Low price, PS/2 or USB
  • Cons: Minor tracking issues in FPS, Mouse too small for larger hands, Software kind of plain

Microsoft Optical Mouse by Starck

PC Magazine
29 March 2007
  • Excerpt: Microsoft Corp., www.microsoft.com $34.95 list Flashy looks, conveniently ambidextrous. Design could pose an ergonomic problem for some. No wireless version available. If you're trying to impress someone, the little guy will certainly do the trick. Unfortunately, this handsome mouse wasn't designed with the user in mind. What happens when Microsoft realizes it has nothing to rival the stylish designs of the Apple iPod and iMac? It unveils the...

The mouse has two buttons, with a standard scroll will, so I feel those who seek the most functionality should not purchase this product.

Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse Special Edition

Active Network
7 September 2006
  • Conclusion: This mouse is perfect for those who want a "techish" style in their lives without having the boldness of the Optical Blue. The Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse Special Edition is good looking; however it doesn’t bring anything functionally different to Microsoft’s line bar a snazzy design. The mouse has two buttons less than the Microsoft Optical Mouse, so I recommend the latter for those who need more functionality.
  • Pros: Optical Technology, Nice Color/Design
  • Cons: More Colors!, Scroll Wheel, Only Three Buttons, Not Bluetooth

Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse 2.0

Geek Culture
30 March 2007
