Summary: I have used several Kingston and Logitech wireless mice without any complaints, and even a few of them have been small ultra-portable like the Microsoft Mobile Memory Mouse 8000. The charging system is very poorly designed-- the cable is flimsy and easily detaches. I'm pretty computer savvy and despite several attempts (and even reading the manual!) I could not get the bluetooth to work with a Windows 7 laptop. Other BT devices work just fine on the same system.
WARNING DO NOT USE THE DEFECTIVE CD THAT ACCOMPANIES THIS DEVICE
22 April 2011
Summary: When we put the CD DRIVER that accompanies the MICROSOFT MEMORY MOUSE 8000 into our computer's optical drive we heard a screeching sound and there was also a lot of vibration. When we were finally able to open the sliding door of the computer's optical drive, it had been destroyed. Upon examination, the CD is warped. If laid upon a flat surface it won't lay flat, if held sidewise, one can see a visable warp.
Summary: I bought this mouse a year ago, or more. It has never charged the battery and must always be used with the provided wire. The dongle is supposed to be a flash drive, but windows won't use it to speed itself up. This is without a doubt the poorest excuse for a mouse that I have ever owned. I have several of the old trackball mice that are still viable. This 8000 model is slowly dieing.
Summary: Like a lot of Microsoft products, this one had potential but didn't live up to it. Nice ergonomics, I liked that it was rechargeable, and the built-in storage in the charging/wired dongle was a nice bonus. However, battery life was atrocious. I made a point of always turning the mouse completely OFF when not in use, used it less than 2 hours per day, and it would be dead within a week. Pathetic.
Summary: very pleased to buy a high-tech mouse unfortunately it doesn't work.I ask help from a knowledgeable person unluckyly it didn't work at all.At first the battery indicator lighted then forever gone.We have never had a chance to use it even just a minute.Maybe a bad one happened to be sent to me,I dont know, according to some reviews I've read, this is a good mouse but it failed my expectation. Will return it.
Summary: My corded Logtech infared mouse began to experience intermitant problems so being a dinosaur I figured it was time to go cordless. I did my usual research on Amazon and selected the Microsoft Mobile Memory Mouse 8000. It arrived, I installed the software, disconnected my trusted Logtech and it worked faithfully for about two hours. Now it does not work at all.
