Excerpt: Comments: Effectively... I truly liked this mouse when I got it, a couple of weeks ago, but now that i am using it on my desk, it isnt as smooth as my old trackball, my desk isnt precisely 100% level but my trackball worked fine on my desk, this just isnt as very good as a trackball, but u never need to have to clean it, so i am going to stick with it for now.
Excerpt: Comments: Just picked 1 up with my motherboard and what not, I adore it.. Not too major, performs on something.. you can use it on your leg, carpet, bed spread.. havent had a issue with inadvertanly hitting the side buttons, which you can set to do anything includding keystrokes, doubleclick, etc... Scans/sec seem a lot more than sufficient..
Excerpt: Comments: A bargain at this price tag, this mouse is much better for me due to the fact I'm left-handed. My only complaint is that the wheel is too "firm" to scroll and/or click. This is something that has been improved in later versions. Be certain to download the Intellipoint software from Microsoft's net internet site.
Excerpt: five buttons work nicely, no further drivers necessary to be installed when you use XP. Excellent for games or browsing Not a massive concern for me but the wheel is loud when you move it. If you need to have a fantastic multipurpose 5 button mouse, this is a excellent excellent mouse. The wheel makes a loud clicking noise when moved but its absolutely nothing to obnoxious.
Summary: The Intellimouse wired optical mouse is trhe best mouse I have had. I gave up a wireless mouse because I could never be sure that the battery was in a satisfactory condition to operate accurately, whereas with a wired mouse you know exactly what is going on! I do not find the presence of the wire at all inconvenient. As it works by light being detected optically it is not affected by dust of the other problems of ball-tracker mice.
Summary: I am currently at the end of my second IntelliMouse's lifespan, but ready to buy a third. For its price, this is a very good 5-button mouse and usually very precise. The buttons are right where you would expect them, the shape is comfortable for my rather long hand-shape and the cable is a good size for desktop use. It also works under Linux out of the box, which helps. What lets this mouse down is that they do seem to break.
