It works

Dennis Sipe "aquatic boardwalk engineer", Amazon
23 August 2013
  • Summary: I play World of War Craft a lot in the winter. This is my third MS mouse of the same type. The other two were wireless and I am so sick of the battery situation I switched to wired. All three have lasted [worked fine] for just under a year. That is not so good. I'll not buy another MS mouse. If you use them for surfing the net and basic PC work they would probably last a lot longer but for gamer's it is not a good deal.

Great for the desktop, so-so for gaming

"evnglion", Amazon
21 October 2004
  • Summary: The first thing I noticed when making the switch from the Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 to the 4.0 (yes, this mouse is the 4.0, not the 3.0 like Amazon suggests) was the scroll wheel. It is incredibly smooth, and feels great to move up and down. It is the best feeling wheel I've ever used, and it's extremely nice on long documents, as there are acceleration options for the wheel itself. However, in a lot of games, gamers will set the scroll wheel to change weapons.

A decent mouse choice and the price was right.

Alex Nagy, Amazon

  • Summary: This mouse is Microsoft's Intellimouse 4.0. As an optical mouse, its movement and weight are excellent. I replaced a broken Intellimouse 3.0 with this and even though this mouse seems favor a right-handed user (I am lefty) even more than version 3.0, it fits more comfortably into my hand than the V3.0.

  • Excerpt: Great mouse with 5 buttons. Unfortunately, it seems that the left button wears out and it becomes hard to press after prolonged use or after a period of time, double-clicking can be a problem (not responsive). The mouse-wheel is tight, depending on room temperature, the stiffness of scrolling changes. Not a durable mouse for gamers.

Bluetooth explorer

markays, Ciao
8 November 2004
  • Excerpt: This mouse fits very nicely into my hand, but if you are a left-handed surfer, then forget it. I have even contacted Microsoft and the have no intension of releasing one for left handed people. I've got a bluetooth laptop, and the mouse works very well with the in-built bluetooth, so i don't ven need to carry the bluetooth dongle around with m.
  • Pros: excellent for laptops with bluetooth built in
  • Cons: 2 month battery life, not for left - handed surfers

An overall good mouse but expensive

Manolis, Ciao
23 September 2003
  • Excerpt: I used to own the previous version of the wireless intellimouse explorer(non bluetooth version). Its ergonomics and the shape were the reason why I did not look into buying another mouse. It fits perfectly in my hand, and I can say that after using this mouse, it feels really weird using others. Working on the computer all the time, means that one of the hands is almost constantly on the mouse. This mouse has never felt bad on my hand, neither has it ever tired me.
  • Pros: Fantastic design and long range
  • Cons: High battery consumption, a bit slow after sleep mode .  Expensive too .

Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer for Bluetooth

evichlaettstar, eBay.de
10 December 2009
  • Summary: ++ ermüdungsfreies Arbeiten für große Hände (20cm Handlänge).
