Okay, Inexpensive

James G., Newegg
24 July 2009
  • Summary: I bought this mouse because my MX518 mouse gave up the ghost suddenly and prematurely, in an angry fit at $50+ mice by different companies I bought this one by microsoft to hold me over, or, if it doesn't work out I'll buy a more expensive gaming mouse later but I'll wait to see if this one grows on...
  • Pros: Cheap brand name, has 5 buttons, handsome design mouse.
  • Cons: Feels light and fragile in your hand. Cord is a tad on the short side and the wheel doesn't click when it spins and sometimes I'm not sure it's responding to the first couple of rolls ~

Great, but will die after a year

Robert F., Newegg
11 December 2006
  • Pros: Very smooth, great comfort for use at work.
  • Cons: Left mouse button died after a year, but it was used 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. I bought the same type for home.

Good Short Term, Not-So-Good Long Term

Mr. M., Newegg
16 July 2006
  • Summary: I am REordering this mouse after about a year of use due to the left click failing mostly due to the ergonomics of this mouse which I've fallen in love with, and also due to avoiding dealing with frustrating drivers again.
  • Pros: Overall my favorite mouse based simply on the ergonomics of it. I immediately came home and bought this mouse after trying it out in the store. Wheel is very smooth, side buttons are out of thumb-bumping range, software drivers for it (get it from Microsoft Site) add wide range of options for all...
  • Cons: Yes, left click has died on mine which I hear is a chronic symptom of failure in this mouse. I have experienced all problems mentioned including double clicking when single clicking and not clicking when normally clicking. Wheel can be frustrating for those that need precision, so I would advise ...

Good But For Two Problems

GreenStar, Amazon
31 October 2004
  • Summary: The Microsoft Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer with Fingerprint Reader would truly be a 5 star product if it didn't have a serious problem. The problem is that using the wheel button (with the setting changed so that its function is to close open windows) works erratically and does not work with all...

Nifty gadget w/excellent mouse

Hellboy, Amazon
31 October 2004
  • Summary: First off, let me say that the price is more than worth it just for the mouse (I got mine for about $35). It has side scrolling, which was new for me, and really nice. The other great thing are the programmable thumb-side buttons, which I have set for Back/Forward--really handy for web surfing.

great fingerprint security and wireless mouse kit

Markcm, Amazon
31 October 2004
  • Summary: I gave this kit a four only because the scroll wheel on the mouse does not have detents; it rolls way to freely without clicks which makes it hard to control at times. For example, a when trying to scroll through a drop down list, the lack of a clicking feature causes you to jump several selections...

  • Excerpt: I thought I would do a quick op on an old favourite, the MS Intellimouse. This mouse has been around for a few years now. We have some in our IT department at work that must be at least 4 years old, so almost an antique by today?s standards!

  • Excerpt: I like me for a long time you have had to manage with the more ‘traditional’ two finger click mouse then this will really be a step up the market. Especially I like me you use the computer a lot, one thing this intelligent mouse will do is save all that wrist movement which is involved with the...
