Summary: compared to my previous MS intellimouse 3 which this mouse replaced, it doesn't come close.
Pros: it's an inexpensive 5 button mouse that functions
Cons: cord is very cheap, forward and back buttons are placed too high to comfortably have quick access to them, middle mouse click has a noticeable delay when clicking it. (eg. opening links in tabs and closing tabs)
Summary: considering everything Microsoft got right with this mouse, it's surprising they messed up one of the simplest components (the magnet that registers movement in the scroll wheel)
Pros: great shape and size, tracks smooth and precisely, under $30
Cons: scroll wheel doesn't register occasional movement when scrolling, such as the first tick of the wheel, which is a design flaw and can't be fixed with drivers. this is a deadly problem when switching weapons in a game, for example. it's also annoying when simply surfing web pages or scrolling thro...
Summary: A 5-button USB mouse is nothing new. My last 2 Intellimice by Microsoft were made correctly, as has been every other 5 button mouse I've ever used. It is unclear as to why they'd suddenly go back on what has been the standard for 5 yrs now.
Pros: light weight
Cons: Mouse button 4 and mouse button 5 are the opposite what they've been on every other 5 button mouse by every manufacturer (including Microsoft) over the last decade. I called Microsoft and this is in fact the way it was made. Also, the wheel is smooth on its surface. This would not be a problem ex...
Summary: Probably the loudest mouse you will ever hear. When you click on it, its noisy...I have a brand new pc, the mouse installed the first time, but now have to reinstall it before use. There are better ones out there
Summary: I bought this mouse because I like the 3000 version of this mouse. But this mouse is tilted so it is taller on the left side than the right ride, which twists your arm when your are using it, which combined with repeated right clicks tenses your muscles up your arm rather than just using your...
Summary: I like this mouse - nice glide action and accurate pointing. BUT - this mouse is NOT AutoCAD friendly. Middle button double-click (zoom to extents) is totally unreliable. We sent it back and supplier could find no fault, so I can only deduce that this mouse is not compatible with AutoCAD.
