Touch pads gain ground with the Logitech T650
12 April 2013
Summary: The Logitech Wireless Rechargeable Touchpad T650 makes it easy to add a standalone touch pad to your Windows 8 tablet or desktop, but mimicking touch-screen gestures is still an imperfect experience.
Pros: The glass-topped Logitech Wireless Rechargeable Touchpad T650 has a large multitouch surface, and works seamlessly with all types of Windows 8 devices.
Cons: The charging cable and USB receiver are extra parts to deal with, and Mac functionality is severely limited.
Conclusion: I was impressed with the performance of the T650 Wireless Touchpad. From the precision of the tracking to the range of the wireless connection and lack of interference, Logitech certainly brings their thirty years of expertise to this peripheral as well. All of the gestures I tried on both Windows 8 and 7 detected and executed without a problem. It's hard to comment about the appearance of a touchpad.
Pros: Allows you to perform many Windows shortcuts from one device, Increases ability to navigate through the Windows desktop over a regular pointing device, Good build quality, pleasing touch surface, Great tracking/sensitivity, battery life, wireless range
Cons: Clicking and dragging still a difficult operation to perform on a touchpad, Can't program gestures to perform custom functions, Won't completely replace a mouse for precise work
Conclusion: Windows 8 works really well without the touch stuff, but if you feel like you're missing out, the T650 is just about the best solution we've seen. Better than all the touch mice that have started to appear on the market and very nearly as good as a touchscreen. The price is arguably a bit steep. We aren't that impressed by the scroll speed either and the clicking can be a little laboured too - especially right click, which can take an age to find.
Pros: Rechargeable, stylish, great touch surface,
Cons: You will waste time doing things you didn't want to, expensive, not fast enough at scrolling,
TEST: Logitech t650 - Fingerstyrt Windows 8 uten touch
7 January 2013
Presis. Stilig. God batteritid.
