Best mouse I've ever had

Summary: This mouse is just absolutely brilliant. It fits perfectly in my hand, and is very easy to use. Deducted one point since I at times get unintended scrolling because of the scrolling "plate" is a bit touchy.
Summary: The Logitech V500 is a true 3-button wireless mouse which fulfills it's work elegantly within any of the following operating system environment (OS X, Linux (x_86 or PPC), Windows (XP, Windows 7) which I've used regulary. The middle flat silver 4-way scroll panel meets nicely with the mouse's surface sloping surface which contains the slightest indentations acting as rest areas for fingers of either side of the panel which completely replaces the standard "mouse wheel"...
Summary: This is my second V500 mouse; my first one lasted several years before finally giving out. Logitech no longer makes this product, so I had to buy from an individual merchant. The scrolling mechanism is smoother than scrolling wheels, which is why I made the effort to track down another V500 rather than settle on what I could find in a store.
Summary: I've used the V500 mouse since 2004 and it's outlasted several notebooks. The self storing usb connector and sleek solid-state "wheel" were strong points both when I purchased it and over the several years and many trips it's taken in my bag. It's still going strong, but Logitech's new "darkfield" AnywhereMX - which really does work on glass and other shiny surfaces, has finally taken its place.
Large palms, short fingers--this is the mouse for you.

Summary: Been using a pair of these--mobile and desktops--for 5 years and lovin it! Like others, i treid a vareity of different ones before finding this one. Besides the noted features in other reviews, I'd like to add the size of this mouse is ideal for those of us with large palms and short fingers. When I was searching for a mobile mouse, at that time they seemed to come in two sizes: standard and really small.
Summary: good product (Logitech v500) at a decent price...I've 3 of these now...very reliable and versatile. It can be used on ANY surfaces. Beat more expensive Microsoft mouse that crapped out only after a few months of use. Also the Microsoft mouse was only good for hard, smooth surfaces.
Summary: I've been using this mouse for 3 years now. It's small design doesn't feel comfortable for large hands. Since my hands are small, this is a perfect fit. I bought it because of it's scrolling tip, since my middle finger started to hurt on my other wheel mouse.. This is definitely more healthy for my hand. The only thing I regret is that this is a wireless mouse which relies heavily on batteries!
Summary: In our Florida real estate training operation each of our regional training directors(9)have a V500 and we love them. The foot print and range is excellent and the specific way it stores the USB receiver inside the mouse is the best system we have found yet.
Summary: I bought the Logitech V500 about a year ago. Works fine, is convenient for travel as it collapses and stores away in its little nylon pouch. The down side, about three months after my initial purchase the inner lining (which is made of plastic) of the aluminum battery bay door started to crumble and flake off into little pieces. By another three months the lining was almost gone.
Summary: This mouse works well and does it's job. I did not like the roll-wheel (it is actually not a wheel but touch-sensitive area). All together it provides a good alternative for a mouse on the road.
