Not bad, but not good..

Stratman, B&H Photo
26 January 2014
  • Excerpt: I had a trackball for many years that I loved. This one is not bad, but it is not as good as the one I had. What they call the buttons are too small, the right and left click would be better if they were larger and more up front. I have large hands, and this trackball is on the small side. I think people with small hands will like it better than I do. They have one with a wheel on it, and this one needs a wheel too..
  • Pros: Accurate Controls, Fast Response, Smooth Movement
  • Cons: Tough To Get Used To, Uncomfortable

right click button keeps going out in 9-11 months.

  • Summary: As a lefty I have found the trackball mouse the only mouse that works for me, both for work and for gaming. I often use my trackball for mmo rpg games and use the right button more then most. I have been using this type of mouse for at least 13 years. My first trackball probably lasted 5 years and replaced because I wore out the cord. the next one last about 5 more years and then the left button went out slowly and I had for about two years with it not working 100%.

OK, I guess

  • Summary: THE GOOD: * It's wired, not wireless. Wired rodents are more reliable. * The ball is acceptably large and reasonably precise. * The buttons are responsive... so far * The ball is finger-operated. Thumb-balls are hard to control. * Very affordable. THE BAD: * No scrollwheel. What were they thinking? * The ambidextrous design makes it equally awkward for all to use. * Mediocre build quality.

What's Changed?

NotSoHappy, reviews.logitech.com

  • Summary: My family are long time users of the Marble Mouse. I really want to be able to keep using these but the last 3 I've purchased haven't lasted a year and the last 2 less than 6 months. We are experiencing double and triple clicks or no clicks and drag to highlight is totally worthless. I expect within the next couple of weeks they will be in the garbage..

no scroll ability like on the old trackman

asapReps, reviews.logitech.com
12 June 2012
  • Summary: I thought I would be doing LESS finger/hand movement by going to this trackman, but with no scrolling ability (i.e., no scroll wheel), I am doing MORE finger movement because now, I have to position over a vertical scrollbar before I can scroll! I cannot believe I allowed myself to purchase this trackball. Don't make the same mistake, yourself, if scrolling is important to you!

No scroll wheel, fatal flaw

iamtheonepercent, reviews.logitech.com

  • Summary: This is a high quality device which is missing a scroll wheel. Without this, the device is of little value to most users. Before you purchase this, try to use your current mouse without using the scroll wheel for a day. I noticed its absence within 30 seconds. I am returning this mouse.

Disappointed

kaosfury, reviews.logitech.com

  • Summary: I am very disappointed with this model. It is uncomfortable to use. The only reason I went with it is because the old wired trackball, T-BB18, is no longer available. I do not want a wireless mouse. Why pay more for something I don't want. Now I know. This is a model and style to avoid.

Try before you buy

  • Summary: I've found this totally wrong for my hand size. The ball is very high so it strains my fingers back. The two smaller buttons are very awkwardly placed. I have to lift my hand off the ball to reach them. The other problem is that the left button sometimes makes a click sound when I press it but nothing happens. I recommend you try one out in a shop before buying it. It might suit you, it might not.

Used to love this trackball until....

Kassandra, reviews.logitech.com

  • Summary: I have owned the Marble Mouse for more years than I can count. I loved the options available in the setpoint setup. It had a total of 5 programmable items. The one that is currently missing is the 2 large buttons when pressed together could be set to a single function. I've upgraded out of XP and into Vista and later Win 7. I began to have issues with my Marble Mouse with Vista. I found out the original marble mouse is not supported in Vista and Win 7.

User Review
