Defective left mouse button

Summary: I want to like this mouse and I'm disappointed that I need to return it.
Pros: Comfortable, ergonomic
Cons: Left mouse button is defective in less than one month of ownership. Apparently this is a common problem. It means you can't click and drag which makes the mouse useless. I tested by swapping left and right buttons in Setpoint.
Cons: Mouse works fine except during gaming. Skips and lags like crazy. Notice delays around 1-2 seconds long which makes it pretty much unusable for gaming. Talked to Logitech support, they walked me through a very long reset process but it didn't fix the problem. I do have a 2nd unifying receiver in ...
Summary: I bought this to replace an ageing cheapo laser mouse which has finally worn out after 3 years of pounding. This is the first time I've ever spent more than a tenner on a mouse so I thought I'd treat myself to something a bit more upmarket.
Summary: Mouse is fine generally, although not top build quality. Unfortunately the scroll wheel tends to stick so smooth scrolling is impossible. Maybe a faulty one-off, don't know. But sending back and going for a G5 instead.
Summary: Based on the reviews of others, I purchased a Logitech MX400 laser mouse. I have owned it for less than 48 hours and am now about to return it as 'unfit for purpose'. Generally the MX400 mouse is an excellent design, but for my particular application it has one serious defect.
