Logitech MX1000 Mouse
29 July 2012
Excerpt: As a long time user of the Logitech MX 700 cordless mouse, I was excited at the opportunity to review the new Logitech MX 1000 laser cordless mouse. You see, between my duties here with MHW and being an avid gamer, I probably logged more miles on my MX 700 last year than on the family car. LOL.
Pros: Rechargeable lithium-ion battery, No noticeable lag, even when gaming, Works with variety of surfaces
Cons: Mouse feet may not wear well, Bloated driver installation, Thumb controls don't support Firefox or Thunderbird
Excerpt: Amazing ability to track movement on just about any surface. Comfortable. Good for gaming. Expensive. The wireless MX1000 ushers in a new generation for computer mice. With its revolutionary laser-guided tracking system, you can mouse on just about any surface, from soft cloth to shiny wood, without missing a beat. Of course, who among us wants to spend $80 on a mouse?
Conclusion: We were impressed with this mouse from the beginning, and how it performed in almost every task. Even though it is the first of its kind, bucking the optical trend, it beamed with polish, sturdiness and long-lasting 'wow' factor. Weeks after initially receiving it, we still haven't gotten jaded through constant use of this mouse. It will be this reviewer's primary mouse for a long time.
Conclusion: After testing this new mouse from Logitech I can conclude that this is probably one of the best cordless mouse available on the market. It looks very good and professional and it also feels superb. The tracking is as good as (or maybe even better) as the MX700 and normally it should work on some surfaces where the MX700 didn't work on. But just like the MX700 this mouse is very expensive. It's official introduction price is the same as the price of the MX700: $79.95.
Summary: In today's
review we clearly saw a revolutionary mouse that brought new functionality,
comfort and design. No one expected a new revolutionary mouse, however Logitech
always pushed its limits and designed the new MX1000 mouse. From our previous
reviews we were amazed with the MX700 mouse since it was one of the first mice
to offer high precision and recharge ability.
Pros: Laser Engine technology, 4-level battery indicator, Lithium-ion battery, 5.8 megapixels/sec image processing, Great new design, On/Off switch
