The MX Air’s most touted feature is its Freespace motion sensing technology. Because of this, users can control a computer’s cursor and click, scroll, and surf through mid-air hand gestures. Hand gestures can also be used to control playback, volume, and other functions of PC-based media.
The mouse, which comes in a glossy black and silver color combination, can be used with both PCs and Macs. It is compatible with Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later. When using it on Windows, users can benefit from MenuCast on-screen menus that allow them to control multimedia applications as well as web browsers. Among the supported multimedia applications that support MenuCast are Apple iTunes, Windows Media Player, RealPlayer, Rhapsody, Winamp, Intervideo WinDVD, ACDSee, Adobe Photoshop Album, Windows Photo Gallery, and Windows Picture Viewer. Web browsers that support it include Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Netscape, and Opera.
The Logitech MX Air is powered by a rechargeable lithium ion battery and has an operating range of 30 feet. It ships with a recharging station, a 2.4GHz wireless micro-receiver that connects through USB, an AC power cord, a Logitech SetPoint software CD, and a polishing cloth.

Pressing the Volume button while steering the mouse left or right decreases or increases audio volume, as seen on a pop-up horizontal bar on screen. Clicking the Volume button switches audio on and off. Pressing the Play/Pause button gives those commands to your media player. Holding the Play/Pause button down while sketching a clockwise... This Mouse Gets More Air than Mighty. Or Jordan. The MX Air soars onto the scene as arguably the coolest mouse in the history of the universe. Its dual use design allows it to function on flat surfaces like a regular mouse, or wielded in the air like a remote. Well, a remote that can sense gestures and zap input from up to 30 feet away. Artfully designed, its customizable buttons are translucent and glow soft amber - a nice compliment to the mirror black finish. On a... Read more
C omputer accessory giant Logitech has offered up its first ever gyroscopic mouse with the MX Air, a wireless mouse that is rechargeable and can control a computer’s cursor by simply moving the device through the air. For the $149 price tag, you get a media-friendly feature-filled mouse with such highlights as volume and playback control, and it will work completely right from the second you power it up. While it may take some time to get used to the speed and handling... Read more

It seems professional reviewers love this thing while consumers aren't too pleased. My opinion falls in the middle but more to the side of loving the innovation and being pleased with the implementation. Before buying this mouse, I used a laser mouse either on my coffee table or the sofa. Either way, my wrist would hurt after a while. So I was excited when I finally got this. Yes, it does allow you to operate the cursor with your hand in the air by pointing to the... Read more
Excellent product all around, hard to think of a 'Con'. I had never used an in-air mouse before. Installing was a breeze. On the desk it performs just a little better than my as-of-today old mouse (I own other logitech wireless rechargeable mouse). In air, it is very intuitive and it just switches to 'air mode' automatically. Now that I've tried it, I wouln't trade if for anything. Great product from Logitech, a company that has gained my trust over the years. Read more
Bought 2 Logitech MX Air Cordless Air Mouses during X'mas of 2009. They turned out to be extremely POOR Device. I had to Re-Center the cursor every Few Minutes! It is a totally useless as an AIR MOUSE. Every few minutes will no longer be useful unless you Re-Center the Cursor again and again and again! Useless Device. I will not buy this again and I DO NOT recommend anyone to buy this also! Read more
I've used alot of mice in my day, and let me tell you, this is the greatest of all time. I can lie back and just wave the mouse in the air with ease. It works on the table as well but why would you do it that way. When lifting it is so much better. Why would you buy anything else. and with such a cheap price, you could buy a few of them. I absolutly recommend this product. To..be..continued. Read more
" While this mouse has a slick design it seems that Logitech concentrated more on an AIR Mouse than a Desktop Mouse. Sure it works fine if you are Waving it in the Air but FORGET about it for a Desktop Mouse - Logitech forgot their Desktop Mouse Roots - No side Buttons, Scrolling is really choppy, constantly looking on the top of the mouse for which button is the BACK Button. There are alot of other PC Accessories that you can purchase for over $100 but this AIR Mouse... Read more
