Trackball

BH, Staples
18 September 2014
  • Excerpt: I am so happy with this mouse. I was looking for a very simple trackball mouse, one with the red ball in the center, but Staples was all out of them, so I bought this one instead. It cost more than I thought it would, but my fingers were so sore from using my old mouse, that I thought, what the heck & bought it. I have to say, I didn't think it would be so easy to get used to, but it was.

Solid Feeling Trackball

Mark, B&H Photo
15 August 2014
  • Excerpt: I have always preferred the trackball. This Logitech is a well made and reliable unit. The wireless works well. Battery life seems strong as I have not needed to replace the included battery and the life estimate in the software shows it will last many months yet. It was easy to install and set up. Ergonomically, it is smaller than older models that I have owned and this is moderately uncomfortable as I have very large hands being 6'4" tall.
  • Pros: Accurate Tracking, Fast Response, Glides Smoothly, Great Features
  • Cons: Sized For Average Hands

  • Summary: great replacement mouse for my Microsoft Optical Trackball mouse which Microsoft discontinued. This was the only other model mouse with the trackball on the side that I could find. And a great price too.

review on trackball M570 by Logitech

R&J, Staples
24 July 2014
  • Excerpt: It works great. Have to get used to the trackball being on the side & not in the middle as our old one was. Like the scroll roll that allows you to do it automatically or by clicking on the menu. It will be just as useful as our old one, once we get used to it. I would recommend it to anyone who likes this type of mouse.

  • Excerpt: Very easy to use and to get used to. Seemed to always run out of table space when playing games and now I can set the mouse in a comfortable position and leave it there..

  • Summary: I would have given this five stars, but the notorious omron micro-switch oxidation issue is a pain as the trackball needs to be taken apart to be returned to working status. This problem is endemic among all Logitech mice that use these omron micro switches, which is every one I have every owned. Given that, I love this thing for how much easier it is on my arm and hand.
  • Pros: - Easy to clean, - Battery lasts a couple months (four year old rechargables), - fits right hand well, - Ball spins smoothly
  • Cons: - cleaning the bearing requires a tool and needs to be done every other week. Can't they design a bearing that self cleans?, - the Omron microswitches need contact cleaner applied after a year if the trackball is used daily.
