Summary: This is a great little mouse, it attaches via a spare port, and does not then need any additional software input. It has the usual availability of customization, which I never utilize, and options for choosing the speed, default is wonderful. The mouse just plain fits the hand as if it is custom made, no learning curve, just plug and go. It travels nicely on a vinyl desk surfase as well as wood and paper surfaces.
Summary: Worse mouse ever. BAD precision. I had M505 before and it was an excellent mouse. I loved it. After using it for 5+ year, the wireless USB seem to disconnect every now and then. So I decided to buy a new M525 mouse. It was a BIG mistake. The m525 mouse was so bad that even my old old old style ball mouse from 20 years ago i dug up still works better in term of precision. I took out part from M525 and put it in M505 to fix the USB issue and work like new.
Summary: My M505 finally quit working dependably for me after nearly 3 years of dedicated service. I loved the design and how I never had to change the batteries, not even once in those 3 years. So I sought out another one only to find they are no longer made. But I did discover this M525 and after a little research I purchased. I am extremely happy with this newer version of my older mouse.
Summary: I bought this for my laptop but tried hooking it up to my desktop just to see how it compared to my other wireless mouse (another older logitech laser mouse that I was having trouble using on the couch. Even with a mousepad it wouldn't work well. I was using an old chocolates box because it was the only thing that would register with it consistently.).
Pros: Portable, stylish, works accurately on any surface I've tried it on except my glass table (it seems like the glass top is JUST too thick to consistently register the surface under it, so it might work on thinner glass.).
Cons: Small size is good for laptops and portability but for gaming or long reading/browsing sessions it starts to make my hand muscles hurt.
Summary: I've owned several previous models of these types of Logitech mice (eg. the V450). One of them has been having trouble with clicks and so I needed to get a new one. I read some negative comments about the M525 and its scrollwheel, but decided to give it a shot anyway. To sum up, the comments about the scrollwheel being sensitive are definitely spot on. The wheel is harder to work with than my old mouse.
Summary: This mouse is really nice, works well, however, you have to be careful about where you place the receiver. I had to move it to the other side of my laptop (closer to the mouse) and I can't use my flash drive on my computer with the mouse, because the mouse will freeze up. I don't know if it's from my flash drive (Sandisk Extreme 32Gb), the mouse or both (My HP mouse worked fine with the flash drive). Other than that, it works well.
Summary: I love this particular mouse. I have 2 red ones already for my other laptops/computers and absolutely love the way my hand fits comfortably on it. I was glad to see that there was more than just red on here for sale. When I bought the other ones at a big brand name store, red was the only color available (which doesn't bother me; I love red, but was hoping for a different color to keep them easily separated).
