Logitech G9 3200 dpi Laser USB Gaming Mouse

Benchmark Reviews
5 April 2008
  • Conclusion: Logitech, being a world leader, has always painstakingly designed their product packaging. The G9 (product 910-000173) comes shipped in a very nicely presented retail package which opens from two sides to display the contents to would-be consumers. The bullet points for everything I have discussed in this review are neatly displayed, and leverage this product very well against the less informative competition.
  • Pros: Interchangeable grips, Laser engine with range of 200 dpi to 3200 dpi, Full-speed USB 2.0, Onboard memory profiles, Weight-tuning system, Custom-color LED's, MicroGear Precision Scroll Wheel, Replacable PTFE feet, 3-year limited warranty, USB report rate: Up to 1000 reports/second, Image processing: 6.4 megapixels/second
  • Cons: Button angle is not steep enough, Cord may collect surface dust, Expensive... but worth it, Windows XP and Vista only

  • Summary: The Logitech G9 ushers in the latest generation of gaming mice with the G9. As you will see Microsoft and Razer also have similar devices with a lot of customizablity. The sheer number of attributes which can be changed within the G9 Laser Mouse is incredible, which should make it fit pretty much every gamer out there.
  • Pros: Every aspect customizable, 5 changable DPI settings, Great on-the-fly DPI switch, Two covers included, more available for purchase, Solid feel, Weight system for perfect feel, High quality cable, Solid software, Very elaborate package
  • Cons: Pricey, No software CD included, Extra weight moves center of gravity, You may get features you will not need, Mouse wheel click button on the underside of the mouse.

  • Conclusion: In the end Logitech has produced another brilliant mouse, although it's worth checking out both this and the G5 to see which fits your hand (and your budget!) better. Either way you're bound to be very, very happy with the results.
  • Pros: Designed for righties, Amazingly expensive, Inferior weights system compared to G5
  • Cons: Customisable weights, Highly customisable buttons, Button profiles, High accuracy, Excellent scroll functionality
