Excerpt: Before this mouse I was using the G9, which I was pretty pleased with on the whole; but I really couldn't stand the buttons located underneath. This mouse locates the hyper-scroll (which is an excellent and essential feature) button on top, which is great, but there is no button to change profiles, because the mouse has no internal memory.
Summary: I don't know why people would give this mouse such Praise! I have owned Logtech Mice products before and to be honest This mouse should Not! carry logitechs name. It has a cheap feel. And the weights really don't improve the feel much either. Yes it has adjustable DPI! Yes it has buttons that can be programed. In 2 weeks the scroll lock shift button broke under normal use. So now I have to ship it back to Logitech for replacement.
Summary: I'm a long time gamer (before the mouse was around) so I've watched over the years as new designs are supposed to make mice work better. For the past five years or so I've been on a G5. I liked it so much that I would find ones in left over stock where I could when I needed a replacement. I've tried several variations over the past few years such as the Sidewinder, MX 518 and G9. I've got a little above average hand size, so some mice feel like small toys in my hand.
Summary: I had this mouse on my wanted list for awhile. I needed something I can use for both gaming and CADing. I had problems with wireless mouse keep disconnecting and batteries dying, especially when used with CAD and games where you do ridiculous amount of clicking. The mouse is great on all those aspects.
Pros: Comfortable, weight adjustable
Cons: High pitch noise emitting from the mouse., No Mac software support, must get third party programs like USB overdrive to use custom buttons.
Logitech G500 - Accurate, comfortable mouse but missing part
25 April 2010
Excerpt: I recently switched to the Logitech G500 mouse after many years of boycotting Logitech products because of bad experiences with their drivers many years ago. It was recommended to me by a friend and the price and features seemed to be exactly what I was looking for. I am pleased with the performance and features of the mouse. It worked as a Plug 'n Play device right out of the box.
Summary: For the cost of this mouse I thought been wired mouse would last for ever. The cable has become frayed and the mouse stopped working. I love working with the mouse, it fitted my hand. Great balance. But it just cost too much money for such a short life working.
Summary: It's a great mouse, incredibly precise and adjustable, with weights to configure as per your required feel. My first unit died after only a few months of moderate use. Amazon replaced it quickly.
Summary: Good mouse, nice in hand, easy to program, but a shrilling permanent noise very disturbing in the long term. I read this was a recurrent problem with logitech's models, so I returned it. Note: you may not hear the noise as I did, it depends on your hear sensitivity.
Summary: It has been a short time since i fitted these so they might improve, but they are not as good as the original feet so far. They do fit easily and there are two sets of feet in the bag so all in all not a bad purchase, i would not recommend changing the original feet for these but if they are damaged or lost these are an alright replacement.
