Excerpt: While the mouse market has changed over the past few years, Logitech has stayed true to a proven ergonomic design - starting with the MX500 a few years ago, they’ve designed an excellent, comfortable mouse for right handed gamers.
Summary: I believe this mouse represents the pinacle of design/function that logitech has produced in the past 7 years. It has made it through first person shooters, mmos, rts, and years of design and cad work. The design of the mouse is perfect for my hand, though a bigger person might take issue with this mouse slight smaller than standard frame. The curves are in the right place so my thumb and pointer fall on the corresponding buttons.
Excerpt: The best mouse I have ever used. The shape fits perfectly on my hands (I have fit medium size gloves). I have used many laser/gaming mouse in the past and nothing beats this. There is a huge improvment from the g5 v1 to the v2. The material of the mouse is very different. The g5 v2 has a nice feel to it because it hand will never get sticky or sweaty. The cord is very long.
Excerpt: I have owned this mouse for over a year now. I dont know what it is with me and mice, but i go through mice about once every year to year and half. This is mostly the case with optical and laser mice While the mouse worked, it was very accurate and had no connectivity issues. You plug it into the USB port and it is recognized right away. It was a great gaming mouse and I never had issues playing and first person shooters with this mouse.
Summary: Coming from a MX518 I really didn't like this mouse, and never really grew into it. the tortoiseshell texture is kind of weird, I liked the way it looked esthetically though. cloth cord was a nice upgrade over the one on the MX. So explain something to me, how can I use the 518 for years then hate this, they are literally built on the same body, I find it hard to believe it comes down to the texture, so it must be the laser.
Summary: I've tried quite a few including the G500, which I still own and use at work, the Cyborg Rat 7 (gimmicks nothing more), the Razer Naga (some heft please), the G700 (ehh) and I've always come back to my tried and true G5. I use all buttons including the side-scroll buttons and, combined with the weight and perfect ergos, this mouse has just worked perfect from jump start.
"If you are looking for a gaming mouse, this is it."

Pros: Great button placement, wheel works really well in-game, love the on-the-fly sensitivity adjustment. Not too expensive: ~50
Cons: Sometimes is painful after holding it. Maybe I played too much? The edge on the right side of the mouse seems sharp and digs into my hand. I've tried a couple of different ways of holding it and eventually sorted it out.
