Finicky - hard to set up just right

Jonathan H., Newegg
16 February 2015
  • Summary: In general, I hate wireless mice. I have a G500 corded with ultra precision, and this M510 no matter the quality has a noticeable lag in cursor responsiveness once you're used to "awesome" mouse response. As you move the mouse, the cursor is, perhaps, 20ms behind. That's very noticeable.
  • Pros: Low price, large form-fitting size, 5 buttons.
  • Cons: It's too heavy for a wireless. I have a cheap corded mouse that weighs very little and it's much easier to move; the weight, for gaming, is helpful, but in this wireless mouse it's a hindrance to precision. I believe the problem is the position of the 2 AA batteries, right in the back, when the m...

Feeby, Walmart

  • Summary: The mouse feels very good in the hand and moves smoothly on almost any surface. The only problem--and it is a significant one--is that the wireless connectivity seems to be intermittent and, therefore, balky on the monitor.

Good mouse except for the thumb buttons.

Anonymous, Newegg
5 November 2014
  • Summary: I've gone through 5-7 mice in the last 12 years or so, and while this mouse has had the best battery life of the cordless mice and it's been the easiest to get the housing off of, the thumb buttons are the absolute worst I've ever used.
  • Pros: Batteries last 2 months or more before needing recharging. Pretty good compared to the last Logitech mouse I had which took two weeks to drain the batteries. Works well on a wide variety of surface materials and colors, unlike my last Logitech mouse which would work on different ones from month t...
  • Cons: The thumb buttons. Both buttons are part of a solid piece of plastic. Each button is connected to a crossbar of sorts with two little "legs," and when you frequently use the thumb buttons these legs *will* snap. They start out too stiff to be comfortable, reach a point of proper responsiveness, a...

Pretty bad reception.

Jonathan P., Newegg
24 September 2014
  • Summary: Get the corded version unless you absolutely 'must' get a wireless mouse, especially if you are a gamer like me. I trusted the wireless thing would work out pretty well, esp. since it's so inconvenient dragging the cord around sometimes, and the battery thing wasn't much of a problem to me, but I...
  • Pros: Great design, fits perfectly in my hand and very comfortable. Scroll wheel feels nice, and the tilt wheel has a nice tactile feel to it. Receiver dock inside battery cover. Works great even without Logitech software. The tracking is basically good, minus the jitter of the wirelessness.
  • Cons: The reception is just horrible. The mouse is very jittery and unresponsive in any but the most perfect conditions. (Through my front port works well, but through my rear port there is almost no way to use the mouse without wanting to throw it at a wall. And there isn't any distance difference or ...

Good

Jinyong U., Newegg
21 September 2014
  • Pros: Everything is good.
  • Cons: Middle button need "some" force to click. (let say 3, from 1 to 5) I've been using this mouse for 1.5 year. It is starting to lose its connectivity. You can't notice during the general uses, but when you play the simulation or strategy game, you can't fluently move the mouse cursor. Also I feel t...

Nice design but wonky connection

jayrock, B&H Photo
22 August 2014
  • Excerpt: I like the mouse, it feels great in your hand. I've been getting lots of delayed/laggy connections. I've placed the receiver right in sight of the mouse and that seems to solve it for the time being.
  • Pros: Comfortable Design, Works On Any Surface
  • Cons: Inaccurate Tracking, Slow Response

More like USED

BRIAN D., Newegg
29 May 2014
  • Summary: Newegg still rocks. I expressed my disappointment and they gave me the refund. You can never go wrong buying from Newegg. But I am going to think twice about buying Refurbished.
  • Pros: The mouse works well and does everything as it should.
  • Cons: The description says REFURBISHED, but its more like USED. The pads on the bottom were all scratched up from use, the mouse buttons did not click evenly (the left lick had a lighter force needed to get a "click") and there was skin oil, dirt, and grease in the indentations. This was probably the w...

26 April 2014
  • Summary: Next time I'm definitely going back to my old "don't buy a mouse I haven't tried in a store" approach. Live and learn...
  • Pros: Tracks well. Unifying receiver is compact and convenient, and works perfectly with my Logitech keyboard. I've had no issues with range or tracking whatsoever.
  • Cons: Small. It would be fine, but the "comfortable contoured shape" narrows it so much that it feels more like holding a tiny travel mouse than a full-sized office or gaming mouse. I have very average-sized hands, but using this I have a cramped claw instead of a relaxed grip. After a week's use the g...

Not "REFURBISHED"

Jonathan B., Newegg
26 March 2014
  • Summary: The condition I received this mouse in is not what I would consider "refurbished". To me refurbished items are defective returns that shouldn't show a whole lot of wear and this looks quite used. I wouldn't be annoyed if the item had been labelled "used".
  • Pros: Is correct model Worked correctly
  • Cons: Top housing somewhat scratched Underneath very scratched Shipped somewhat dirty

Owned one for a year

Anonymous, Newegg
9 February 2014
  • Pros: This is a nice mouse for the price
  • Cons: The lens seems to get dirty easily, and I am constantly cleaning it out. I have been using rubbing alcohol and a cotton swab to clean this mouse. The real issue I have is that the set point software I had to download from Logitech would not recognize my most, so I couldn't reassign the keys. The ...
