Summary: I could not get this to work on my laptop. Bluetooth connected easily, and laptop was recognizing the device as "working properly", but nothing I did could get this to work (either as a mouse or trackball). I even uninstalled and reinstalled. I had to send it back.
Summary: I love the long battery life - I've had it about a month now (with heavy use; about 12 hrs. per day) and I just got a low battery warning tonight for the first time. As soon as it detected the batteries at less than 10% a Task-bar message popped-up to let me know it was time to start thinking about a new set. Switching from normal mouse mode to trackball mode is just a simple double-click away.
Summary: 17 months and still very pleased. I was worried about buying this product because of the negative reviews associated with cleaning the trackball. Then I found one review that explained that with some care it was possible to extract the trackball, clean and replace it. I have found this is not necessary if you follow some simple daily maintenance. With a moist cloth rotate the trackball in all directions every day.
Summary: My experience started off badly when I encountered the same problem of intermittently dropping the Bluetooth connection. Kensington support was no help. I solved the problem by reinstalling my computer's Bluetooth software (not the same as Kensington's driver). I found that using the BT SlimBlade in trackball mode I preferred using my index finger on the ball and left-clicking with my middle finger (i.e. swapping left and right key actions).
Summary: This was a beauty out of the box. Pros: It synched pretty easily once I figured out what the lights meant. Unlike other bluetooth mice I've had, you don't have to go through a lot of fussy set up every single time you use it. Once it's paired, it's good. I have had it about a month and never even shut it off, so the battery life is great. It's also got a handy little off switch on it so it won't accidentally turn on when you travel and be dead when you arrive.
Summary: I really liked this trackball / mouse - best of both worlds, working in every situation, and bluetooth. When it is working - it is great. BUT - first one died after several months; I ordered second one as I liked it so much, thikning first one was a lemon. When this one died too out of the blue, and just after a few months - it is really unreliable piece of HW. Functionality wise - great, but I would not get another one, and would not recommend it to anyone.
Summary: Bought this mouse as a travel trackball. Can't seem to get it to function as a true trackball, and can't seem to find a detailed owner's manual on the CD. Works great as a regular mouse, though. More time may allow me to figure out how to make it do its tricks. I haven't had it long enough to report on battery life.
Summary: I have been a Logitech trackball user for years and years now. And with that it was very hard for me to get used to this. Honestly, my wrist would not get comfortable. I would get a bit of a cramp in it and found myself taking a break here and there. As for the bluetooth I kept having troubles. I would leave it alone and sometimes it would connect and other times it would not. Sometimes it was only left alone for a few minutes.
Summary: This is my first Kensington mouse after having used various Logitech models. I bought this after trying a friend's. The scrolling ball is heaven and covers a lot of screen real estate with little effort. Side to side too! My only hesitation was all the reviews mentioning how it could dirty and stop functioning. The things got a good warranty and after a month or so I just don't see it as a problem (don't eat greasy fried chicken while surfing lol).
