Delivered expeditiously; been unable to get it to work

Leon Louw, Amazon
2 March 2014
  • Summary: It was delivered expeditiously, and the order was processed efficiently, but I have been unable to get it to work. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, and have read and followed the installation and operation instructions carefully. I will edit this review in due course.

What a terrible device....

Jeremy Alan Bell, Amazon
25 February 2011
  • Summary: I am a professional corporate educator and this is the worst device I have ever used. I will never buy another IOGear product as long as I live. This thing has a laundry list of problems. 1. It does not utilize a dongle for communication with the computer it uses a large base/cord combination. It is a bit ridiculous. I travel for a living, as many corporate educators do, and this device does me no favors. It did not come with a case or any way to pack it.

Phaser

A. Smith "d4deli", Amazon
1 January 2011
  • Summary: I may not be the brightest when it comes to technology, but I have been frustrated with this phaser. I purchased it for my classroom, and I haven't really used it. This has not been a helpful tool. Too complicated, and only seems to function properly some of the time.

Hascher Loïc "Loic", Amazon
7 November 2009
  • Summary: I bought this mouse for my work, I had to do very often powerpoint presentation. I didn't pay enough attention when I purchase this article and was very disapointed when I get it ! This mouse is NOT using a remote USB key for wireless control, it is using it's own receiver which you have to connect with a cable to your laptop. It's very unhelpfull.

User Review

Russell J., Newegg
30 July 2009
  • Summary: Channel reset button is shown on the Base unit in the documentation but both items I got did not have a reset button. Only on the mouse and I said before it did not reconnect the mouse when it was pushed.
  • Pros: Great idea. Unit looks good and when working does work as a mouse/presentor should. However...
  • Cons: This is the second unit for me. Returned first unit because it was NOT detected during computer start up unless the USB cord was disconnected/reconnected. Tried on numerous PC's & same results. Second unit seemed to work fine for about three weeks then started the same thing. Channel reset on mouse is ineffective to reconnect. Not good when used in an Executive Conference room and it doesn't work for the company president!!!

mouse yes, trackball no

William F., Newegg
13 June 2009
  • Summary: Overall design is good. Unit is very light weight for how big it is, which makes it feel cheap. But the erratic performance really kills its usefulness. If this unit had worked properly I would have given it 4 eggs.
  • Pros: Works as a table top mouse if synced (see below). Works as a laser pointer.
  • Cons: Unusable as a presentation mouse because the trackball requires significant thumb pressure to make the movement register as cursor movement on screen. This defeats the purpose of the trackball also being a button, because it gets pressed down any time you use it to move the cursor (if you dont press down on the trackball, the cursor doesnt move the the trackball just spins). Pressing down with your thumb all the time is very uncomfortable. The unit NEVER would sync af...

sloooow trackball

LILass, Amazon
28 October 2008
  • Summary: I bought this to use the trackball mouse in presentations because I go between web pages and powerpoint and wanted to do some mouse navigation. I also have a logitech trackman trackball desktop mouse and that uses standard Microsoft drivers. The Logitech trackball speed follows the pointer speed setting in the Mocrosoft mouse settings. I have it set on the fastest setting and love it that way so I can get across a screen with minimal rolling of the ball.
