Pretty snazzy...only after you download the recent drivers!!

Summary: It could be the fact that I had to download the drivers through a work computer/network, but it took awhile for some reason. Couple this with the fact that the CD DID NOT WORK! It said 'setup has detected an incompatible version of windows' when I tried to install the software from the CD...but then I downloaded the most recent software and it worked like a charm! This PC has Windows XP 32-bit service pack 3...so maybe some issues there?? Dont know.
Summary: This only applies to Win 7 x64 users Win 7 64-bit Installation of IOGear driver for GBU421 Bluetooth..... Download, save and extract the zipped driver file for the appropriate version of windows from the IOGear site (do not use included mini-cd.) For Vista/Windows 7, this is version 220.127.116.1100, dated Sept 24, 2010. [...]. Install the driver software first, before inserting the BT mini-adapter into a USB port.
Summary: I wasted my time and money trying to buy other bluetooth adapters on the super cheap. Unfortunately, most of them didn't work. So I looked up the ratings and bought this product since it has the highest rating. So far I am not disappointed. It installed easy, is small enough to keep in the back of my laptop (so I won't accidentally lose it like the last one), and connects to my Lego Mindstorms NXT, saving me money instead of having to buy the official one.
Summary: Ok, let me first say it does work.... I have a vista laptop with a 64bit version of vista. I followed the instructions, however they contradict themselves on 2 occasions. To successfully install this device.... DO NOT install from the CD. Go to [...] and download the gbu421 drivers first. Install them, DO NOT AT ANY POINT plug in the adapter. Let it install, itll then ask for the device... click cancel and continue (DO NOT INSERT IT).
Summary: Today I received this Bluetooth adapter and since connecting first time in Ubuntu 8.10 was detected and ready to use, without asking anything, very simple. After that, paired with the Sony Ericsson cellphone and started transfering some files, was very fast. Tested the adapter with Blueproximity, to lock the system if you get distance away and unlock if you walk near the computer, with some problems but basically worked great.
Summary: Pro: Flawless synchronization with Blackberry 8330 Curve (Verizon) Fast File Transfer Super small form factor (never has to be removed!) Cons: Terrible support of drivers a.) Disk supplied in package is outdated version compared to what is on IOGear support website b.) Drivers listed on website (v5) seem to install fine, however, the Blackberry Desktop Software (used for synch with Outlook) does not see the Blackberry connection.
Seems to work well - but Windows 64-bit users take note

Summary: First, I really like how small this is... but the website and other information may lead you to believe this is not Windows Vista 64-bit compatible as it expressly says 32-bit. Luckily, a few other reviewers mentioned that it was and indeed it does work on Windows Vista 64-bit for my purposes. Maybe there is some limited functionality for Vista 64-bit that keeps them from advertising it. In any case, I am knocking off a star for the Vista 64-bit confusion.
Summary: *** My comments (below) are from January 2009. One of the more recent comments (April 2010) states that my issues are no longer valid. Just a heads up that things change/improve over time. *** The product works (eventually) and is low priced and is tiny. But, before you install it, please consider the following. Customer care by Iogear is horrendous. The first hurdle is bad instructions. Step 1 for Vista says you MUST insert the device.
Excerpt: Immediately after installing, it works fine. Extremely tiny and trustworthy. A quite painful set up in windows 7. I somehow managed to install it in one win7 machine (it didn't work from commence). I've spent three hours trying to set up it on a second win7 machine (both Ultimate x64). I even disabled automatic driver installations and other automatic detections in win.
