Summary: DON'T BUY THIS. Seriously, even if it works (which it probably won't if you run windows 7 or vista), one day you may have a problem and will have to deal with IOgear customer support. I spent hours trying to make this work and could find no solutions. Follow the instructions with the device? Bluetooth Device not detected. Follow instructions on their site? Bluetooth Device not detected. Follow tech supports instructions? Bluetooth Device not detected.
Summary: I had a similar iogear bluetooth adapter two years ago that performed perfectly. The problem is the company changed the driver and possibly the hardware without informing the customer until you open the package. The package states that this device is XP, Vista and Windows 7 compatible. Unfortunately when you open the package, you find a sticker on the installation disc that says important; not compatible with Windows XP.
Summary: Worked fine with the various bluetooth devices I had around, but that is not what I bought it for. Synced it up with my BT keyboard, BT headset, and Android phone and it worked fine, but I got it specifically for using with a PS3 DUALSHOCK 3 controller. When installing the software and driver for using with a PS3 controller, you cannot use the bluetooth adapter for any other bluetooth devices--bluetooth just acts like its turned off.
Summary: I needed a way to transfer my cell pictures to my laptop without all of the fuss of finding and connecting cables and this was the way to go!! I found some that were a lot more expensive and was thrilled when I saw it was available at walmart. I found it online but needed it fast so I drove to a couple walmarts and found it. Once installed it worked great! Actually, it worked so well I set out to find another one for my other laptop.
Summary: I tried this product for about 2 weeks. My intent was to use it in conjunction with a Bluetooth headset for VOIP calls. After repeated installs, uninstalls, and reinstalls of the software, I was never able to get it to predictably operate with stability. I am running Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit, fully updated), with 4GB RAM.
Summary: Works GREAT !! Switched cell phones and wanted to transfer pictures and phone book to new phone !! Worked great, very fast, saved a bunch of time and trouble. But--knocked off a star for the install. No cd in my package, had to go to web site for the drivers (windows 7 64 bit) Be sure to get the right 1's -- lots of choices !! Software hard to install even though I fix and upgrade computers as a 2nd income. Wouldn't go to the 2nd part of the install after restart.
Summary: Not being a name brand junkie, I often opt to go with the no-name overseas manufacturer first -- especially with items that cost, say, $20 or less -- because, especially at low end price point items, product guts are often all manufactured at the exact same OEM regardless of what brand name is printed on it. That said, this is not true in the case of USB mounted Bluetooth Micro adapters.
Summary: This really is a great product. For the minimal cost it is exactly what I wanted. Took a few minutes to get the right drivers installed but afterword it has worked great on my computer. Windows 7 x64 Also if you are using this with windows 7 or vista and are using this for audio you may have to disable your default audio output device before this will acquire the signal.
Summary: I have a pair of Sony DR-BT50 headphones that I use with my Android powered mobile phone. I get great reception with the headphones when paired with my phone. I can roam around my apartment while listening to music via A2DP without losing signal, even when there are walls between me and my phone. With this bluetooth dongle, on the other hand, I can't get more than a few feet away without completely losing signal.
