Nah, not really genius

Anonymous, Newegg
1 September 2009
  • Pros: Nice look and feel to tablet, with very nice build quality for the price.
  • Cons: This thing has never worked properly/well. I keep downloading the drivers as they update them and it has never worked properly on Vista. The sensitivity settings will never work properly and it doesn't work consistently. Sometimes my strokes are nice and smooth with a good sensitivity range, but ...

Driver/Software problems on Vista 64

Anonymous, Newegg
9 May 2009
  • Pros: Nice thin tablet, with lots of customizable buttons and two handy wheels.
  • Cons: I can't get the pen "offset" value to work correctly at all, and it renders the tablet unusable. I've used the new drivers, and have tried many times to make it work, but it just won't work correctly. Their support site for the US in in spanish and the support is unhelpful. I suspect if it works ...

offset issue

Renat K., Newegg
29 January 2009
  • Summary: First of all I would recommend downloading the latest driver for the tablet from geniusnet.com. They have actually fixed issue with dual monitors.
  • Pros: Overall the tablet is good if you manage to set it right. the resolution and sensitivity is high for that price.
  • Cons: I have exactly the same issue as a reviewer "8chbomb". I could not set an offset for the pen. Right after installation it was working properly, and was following the pen (without touching the tablet). However, after several reboots it stopped. I had to touch the tablet for the cursor to move. In ...

Compatibility issues...

Edward A., Newegg
7 January 2009
  • Summary: I'm really disappointed that Genius failed to provide up to date drivers, so I'm going to shell out the extra coin for a Wacom or something at least higher end than this.
  • Pros: Inexpensive, sleek looking.
  • Cons: Was unable to install on OSX 10.5.6. The installer drivers are made for Mac Classic, which apparently is no longer supported.

it's Genius!

Harry S., Newegg
25 September 2008
  • Summary: I found this tablett to be highly functional and easilly operational. Plus you really can't complain when it is all for $90.00
  • Pros: This pen tablet is my first and has given me a great experience so far,few down sides. The pen glides across the tablet effortlessly and needs no tweaking out of box. Plus I found no out of box scratches or damages of any kind, it was in great condition. I also found that the wheels on it have gr...
  • Cons: There are down sides to this tablet which i regret to say. The most irritating are the dimensions and placement of the buttons on the pen they are highly inconvenient and require you to move your hand in order to click them, but that doesn't really matter because you can press and hold. Second is...

  • Summary: i love the shape of the stylus, the picture on newwegg make it look way bigger than it is, it is very comfortable to use. the wheels are very handy for zooming in and out while drawing/painting.
  • Pros: for my first personal tablet, this thing is great! and so many hotkeys too, makes working in flash so easy!, though action script still needs the keyboard (easier for me). the sensitivity is great, you can even use the stylus tilted, unlike some of the old wacom graphire series tablets, where you...
  • Cons: can be kinda tedious setting up all the hotkeys, but once it's done, it's done and you are set. you also have to push down a bit harder than you would say... a pencil on paper, but even compared with the wacom intuos 2's i've used (at friends house and in school) that is just something you get us...

21 June 2008
  • Summary: "I just bought the g-pen m609 and I have been trying unsuccessfully to set it up on vista business32 to use with May, Photoshop, Mudbox, UV Layout, and other design and 3D software packages.
  • Pros: CHEAP!!!
  • Cons: CHEAP!!! I was optimistic about this tablet (because I can't afford $400 for a Wacom) but so far, I'm disappointed... and STILL under the gun w/no tablet. I will be dealing with "Genius" tech-service to try to resolve, so we'll see how it pans out... here is a copy of the initial email I sent the...

Ok, but horrible Mac Drivers

Eric M., Newegg
15 April 2008
  • Summary: The Mac drivers generally work for tablet functions, but you essentially cannot program the function keys to do anything except open an application. The Windows version you can have it map to any key or key combination, but not so with the Mac.
  • Pros: Generally sleek and works ok in general.
  • Cons: Basically un-usable Mac drivers (More below). Pen is huge. Translucent surface cant be lifted to put a template underneath, so no reference card for the 26 function keys. Scroll wheels are the same - can't do 2 different functions. Glossy border area has numerous marks from manufacturing, as ther...
