great

  • Summary: I have had vista, win 7, 8, 8.1 all pick this up, have unplugged it and plugged it back in and works in seconds. Works with a new system that's never had a OS.
  • Pros: This has been a real good mouse. very quick, responsive, game with it all the time. For the price, this is awesome.
  • Cons: Battery life not as good as stated but this gets used all night an all weekend. Not a negative for the price.

Good while it lasted

Amanda O., Newegg
14 July 2013
  • Summary: It's shiny?
  • Pros: Got this as a cheap alternative to using my laptop's trackpad. Personally, any mouse no matter how cheap is better than a trackpad. And this one worked fine, nothing fancy and wasn't used for gaming. I did like the placement of the On/Off switch, I could flip it over and flick it on or off with o...
  • Cons: Stopped working after 4 months.

Gear Head MP2850

Brian R., Newegg
25 January 2013
  • Pros: No wires
  • Cons: This mouse is terrible. I have tried everything to get it to move consistently. When moving it, it will stop then start. I have tried: taking out bluetooth plug, turning mouse on and off, taking out batteries...nothing changes. If you move across a large desk, it will stop after a couple inches. ...

lasted a month

Matthew S., Newegg
21 January 2013
  • Summary: RMA-ing it would have cost more than I paid for it. I replaced it with a Logitech M705. Spend a few more bucks to get a better quality item.
  • Pros: Cheap, wireless
  • Cons: Forward button and top button never worked. Batteries only lasted a month, even with turning it off when not in use. After the first couple of weeks with no real problems (except above), it would disconnect randomly. Connection issues got gradually worse until after a month, it was taking me more...

Okay mouse

Samson L., Newegg
21 December 2012
  • Pros: Great connection when the mouse is actually functioning.
  • Cons: On my first day of getting this mouse, the mouse connected fine. The second day the mouse had terrible initial connection. It is really difficult, for mine at least, to simply turn the mouse on and expect the mouse to connect to my computer.

Great Mouse

David L., Newegg

  • Pros: Nice size for a laptop. Five buttons is nice for the web, although you can't program them.
  • Cons: No instructions, didn't know what the center button was for until I read the previous review!

Awesome quality and value

James K., Newegg
16 September 2011
  • Summary: this is well built. i'm always dubious of anything built in china, but this is solid. button action is perfect; side buttons work great, and the mouse worked perfectly on windows 7. my pc sits under the desk, but there is no issue with signal strength.
  • Pros: great value for $15 solid construction smooth clicking buttons adjustable resolution on the fly
  • Cons: roller is stiff, i'm guessing it will loosen up with use. needs two AAA batteries

Gear Head MP2850BLK Mouse

  • Summary: I love this mouse, I purchased it to take it to work with me. The description didn't state what kind of batteries, this takes 2 AAA batteries, which the package came with 2. Not to forget the little remote part you put in the computer has a place you can place it on the bottom of the mouse.

Great Mouse

Anonymous, Newegg
24 May 2011
  • Summary: Wonderful little product and cheaper compared to other 5 button nano-receiver mice. Can't beat the price! I didn't purchase on Newegg but this mouse serves its purpose well. Would purchase more if I needed more!
  • Pros: - Nano Receiver so you plug it in and forget about it. No long protruding dongles. - Underside of mouse has magnetic storage space for the nano receiver to keep it in place when it's not plugged in to help keep you from losing it. - On/Off switch convenient for when the mouse is not on. - Include...
  • Cons: To be honest, none that I can think of.
