Summary: I'm going to knock this based on my experiences using in Revit and Sketchup. I thought this might be helpful with modeling. For me, it turned out to be a novelty best used for smooth flybys/walk thrus or twirling schematic designs around in perspective for clients to view on screen.
Excerpt: This device does exactly what it is suppossed to do. It navigates google earth with ease, and it allows you to add to an existing mouse the added functionality to relieve wrist or tendon problems that result from long term mouse controller use.
Summary: I read about this gadget when I started to use SecondLife. However, I decided to buy it after I saw a demo of how to use it with a protein visualization software ([...] The SpaceNavigator deliver a level of control unparallel by any other device I have used.
Summary: I am a professional photographer and I spend many hours using Photoshop to retouch pictures. I don't do much with 3D programs so this item turned out to be a disappointment for me. I expected it to be fully customizable like my Logitech keyboard where I can assign key presses to any action.
Summary: Item was ordered because I thought it would be a nice alternative to using a mouse. Unfortunately, while the product was made well and might work well for some, its certainly not a replacement for your standard mouse or touchpad.
Summary: The thing is beautiful, but the box and advertising seems to convey more OSX support than there actually is. Currently it only appears to work with Google Earth. I am a Blender user and a Second Life tinkerer, and hope this will support those apps before it goes obsolete.
Summary: I bought this 3d mouse to use for video gaming. I knew it was a speculative move so I'm not totally dismayed to find it's pretty well useless despite the Youtube videos you'll find of people apparently using it with World of Warcraft. First.
Summary: It was just as ordered. It works great. Quick delivery. Good price. I use the Pro version now. It is mounted to a pad. This one tends to lift up as you use it. You could glue it down to a board to stop that. They are Very good though ! Thank you.
Summary: It was recommended by a friend as a useful aid to SketchUp. ...Maybe eventually, if I ‘stick with it’, but for now it’s an impediment - and a solution to a problem I didn’t have! After 90 mins ‘persevering’ I felt distinctly ill with motion sickness.
Summary: Nice heavy weight feels robust, will not roll off the desk. Adds a smoother level of control. I am not sufficiently experienced to see if it is of major benefit. But feels good so far. The main problem is the software installer which is inadequate for a reasonably expensive kit.
