Solid choice

R M., Newegg
20 May 2012
  • Summary: Just a good little memory card for general purpose use, no problems.
  • Pros: Works great in our Canon A590 point-and-shoot camera. Class 6 seems fast enough to record video as well as photos.
  • Cons: Wish it was free!

Stick with a better brand

Dennis W., Newegg
25 March 2012
  • Summary: Had a Sandisk card forever and never had any problems but when it came time to get an extra I thought I would save a few dollars...bad idea. When I first got the card everything seemed fine, until I had about 1000 pictures on it and went to transfer them to my computer.
  • Pros: Nothing really.
  • Cons: Locks up camera, corrupts huge batches of pictures. All around bad purchase.

good price

Wallace L., Newegg
9 December 2011
  • Pros: Good price for a basic memory card. The speed is fast enough for any point and shoot. Basic (non-HD video) recording was fine with no buffering lag.
  • Cons: These are not high capacity, or super fast, but given the price when they are on sale, this is a non-issue. If you need something bigger, or faster for HD video, then spend a little more money. This memory card is for basic pictures and video only.

Fast and lasts

john s., Newegg
8 December 2011
  • Summary: Outlasted a regular Transcend 4g card. It is now dead. Won't read, write or format. Guess I'll stick with the HC version.
  • Pros: Has lasted 1 year.
  • Cons: None

Short life

Luc G., Newegg
30 September 2011
  • Summary: Tried reformating using the utility on Transcend web site, and it always fails. Tried different readers: same result. Even if I could format it, why risk losing more pictures. I have Sony memory sticks that are over 10 years old and SanDisk that are 7-8 y/o that still work, but Transcend can make...
  • Pros: Included reader Fast enough to record HD on my camera
  • Cons: Died after 10 months, used maybe 20-30 time Card died while unloading picture to PC, taking everything with it.

died after 3 months

Robert A., Newegg
10 February 2011
  • Summary: Hopefully transcend replaces it under warranty. It's just a nuisance to go through for an $8 card.
  • Pros: worked great for 3 months. Great read/write speeds.
  • Cons: The card died and lost all pictures that were in it after 3 months of usage in a Nikon point/shoot. I cannot format or run chkdsk on the card. Won't read/format in camera either.
