Good drive but much better options now

Summary: Great drive, but there are much smaller and cheaper options out there now, like the SanDisk Cruzer Switch CZ52 16GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive, which is double the capacity, 1/4 the size, and less than 1/3 the price.
Summary: This is my second Sandisk U3 flashdrive. I got my first one from Best Buy (with the flip-open design). The 8GB model has more room for files; however, be careful with the removal of the unit from a USB port (fragile design).
Summary: I ordered this product for our students because it has a good quality. This flashdrive contains a security feature where you can assign password before access to the files or programs can be made. For me, this is helpful especially on confidential data.
Summary: The price was very good for the storage size, and the little thing works quite fine. Be aware, though: 1. This has indeed some software that will install itself in windows with no previous warning. I did not like that, although I don't think it has caused damage... 2.
Summary: The software that comes on the thumb drive is easy to remove using the tool from Sandisk's website. USB drive is very light weight, which is good for carrying in pocket, but could break easily. Write speed seems normal. 800 MB file transferred in about 40-50 seconds.
Summary: I'm currently using this thumb drive between computers and for school. I really like the retractable port; that was a big sell point for me, especially because I need to travel around with it from home to school and back.
