Fast in Nikon D3

11 June 2008
  • Summary: I bought this card after seeing it on R. Galbraith's CF/SD Performance Database as the fastest rated for a Nikon D3. As advertised! I photograph Football and was missing some shots as I waited for the D3 to write to my older 4GB Sandisk Extreme III card - the Ducati version writes about 35% faster in RAW. Solid price for solid performance.

More than just branding

  • Summary: I use both the Sandisk Extreme IV and Ducati Edition CF cards on a daily basis and can say that there is an actual, noticable speed advantage with the Ducati Edition. Whether this speed advantage is worth the extra cost depends on what subjects you photograph. For example, the obvious advantage is the ability to dump a buffer full of sports JPGs from my D3 to the card with minimal delay.

  • Summary: I'm using this card with a brand new D300. This product is extremely fast. It writes pictures to the disk almost faster than I can take them! It is also extremely fast transferring pictures off the card and scrolling through pictures while they are on the camera. I highly recommend this product for anyone needing speed. It is unrivaled in the industry in terms of speed. Product also comes with a little flash card holder as well.
