Summary: I added this memory to an existing setup with 2G PNY memory. Caused Windows Home XP to restart after about 1 minute. I tried several times with the same result. I removed the memory and it works just fine. The photo shown for the memory off. The memory shipped to me did not include the heat shield shown in the photo. Perhaps that was the problem?????? My existing PNY memory does have a heat shield installed with a seal on it.
Summary: Ordered this for an old Lenovo PC that called for PC5400 DDR2. For some reason I didn't understand the PNY memory would't work. Bought the Kingston PC5400 DDR2 and it worked fine. I called PNY and they said their memory does something different (can't remember what) and would not work in the Lenovo.
Summary: I bought this for an older Dell machine running a single-core AMD AM2 processor. My goal was to speed up the machine as much as possible, for as little money as possible, and since the CPU is outdated and not replaceable, I went for largest RAM I could. Normally I would go with Corsair, but I wasn't holding much hope for this machine. To my surprise, this chip brought the computer back to life and I can even run Win7 Pro x86 on it now.
Summary: I put these in and computer went from 1G to 4G. The computer ran great for 2 days. Then tried to download the free movie that comes with this and the next day I had a virus, had to pay $140.00 to clean up my computer. Feeling confident to try the new sticks again and immediately windows went into emergency shut down mode. Put the old sticks back in and no problem. I'm not saying the PNY Mem is not good, but it did create an issue with my computer.
