WHY THE HELL DO I HAVE TO CREATE AN ACCOUNT WITH THEM?

fan t., Newegg
31 May 2012
  • Summary: Wasted my money.
  • Pros: BAH, the account creation requirement kills any pros
  • Cons: When I first saw this, I thought - cool. The memory card can attach to a local wifi and send it to my computer that is attached locally (or optionally, via "the cloud"). But these people *FORCE* you to _use_ their "the cloud". You *HAVE TO* create a stupid ef-fling account just to activate the cowpie. On their "the cloud". If I had known this was what was going on, I would never have bought it. *PUKE ON _"THE CLOUD"_* Lets hope that they manage to update their softwar...

Suspect business model

Anonymous, Newegg
10 May 2012
  • Summary: Based on these issues it seems to imply that Eye-Fi has one of those particularly bad business models where they are selling the cards with the intent to monetize you at a later date and there appears to be room in their privacy policy for this sort of thing. "Information that contains no personally identifiable information, i.e., deidentified data, may be shared with third parties or used for any reason.
  • Pros: Comes with USB adapter.
  • Cons: Requires an internet connection to their servers to download setup software. Requires an account with their servers even to transfer files locally. Does not allow uploads to the card so it can't be used in a picture frame. Filters and checks data to ensure that only JPEGs are uploaded so they can charge extra for RAW support. This also makes it difficult to use it for an Internet of Things application. Customer support is terrible and basically responded to questions ...

disappointment

Russell J., Newegg
25 August 2010
  • Summary: I have the previous generation but even on todays eyefi forums there are posts about completely losing images in addition to the same problems I continously had regarding simply connecting to wifi.
  • Pros: it can act as storage, barely
  • Cons: - expensive - service charge for hotspots - software extremely unreliable - no way to manually initiate image transfer - wifi configuration works about 1% of the time - overall totally unreliable

Not compatible with satellite ISP

Carl V., Newegg
26 May 2010
  • Summary: Why would you need to 'get connected to Eye-fi server' when working locally? I understand you need an internet connexion to upload to your preferred social media website, but why would you need an internet connection to simply upload your JPGs to your local computer?
  • Pros: Product promises a lot. I was promptly offered an RMA + prepaid shipping label (!) when I reported it was not working. Great customer service from NewEgg!
  • Cons: Will not work with satellite ISP. When I tested my first card, it didn't connect to Eye-fi server. Eye-fi support failed to identify the problem so it was returned - easily - to Newegg. Second card arrived and same negative results, but this time, Eye-fi tech support confirmed that most satellite ISP's use proxy servers which is not compatible with their product.

produit de qualité médiocre

geo75 "sylvain84", Amazon
26 September 2014

A éviter

Dewy, Amazon
26 September 2014

NaJa

Martin S, Amazon
18 December 2013
  • Summary: Für mich nicht zu gebrauchen weil: 1.
