Summary: Crucial has for many years produced a Quality product at a reasonable price. This particular chip went into an older custom built medium duty computer that is using Windows XP 32 bit for the Operating System. I am very pleased with the additional RAM's quality and performance.
Summary: I checked the Crucial website for memory boards compatible with my laptop, got a recommendation for a different model -- a call to Crucial resolved the mystery. Their very knowledgeable, helpful and articulate customer service rep confirmed that this product was compatible with my laptop and explained that for their own sales reasons Crucial uses different model designations for the same product sold directly or through distributors.
Summary: Plug and play, no worries...sped things up and saved a great deal of money, because we were talking about getting a new PC. So, the RAM upgrade gave us some needed speed and time to consider a future purchase of a newer PC.
Summary: OK, so you have an old computer that needs this chip. You found somebody who provides it. Buy it, already, before their inventory runs out. This is obsolete technology, but if you need this particular chip, this one works without problem. Who could ask for more? I bought this (I think from Amazon) along with another purchase to avoid shipping costs.
Summary: This memory was delivered on time with no issues. I installed it into a compaq legacy machine that was running on 256MB of memory. Once this GIG was installed it brought new life to the machine.
