Unreliable after 11 months

John T., Newegg
11 June 2012
  • Summary: I was able to recover the last batch of pictures using some file recovery utilities but at an additional cost. Should have used theses apps the first time also.
  • Pros: Cheap and worked well with my D5100 for RAW pics and videos... for 11 months.
  • Cons: Unreliable after 11 months. During my last 2 transfers, the card became unreadable in the middle of the transfers; and I lost all the files that did not have time to be moved. My transfer process is the same (moving file from SDHC to PC via card reader) for the last 11 months. Laptop, PC and DSLR all reported that the card needed to be formatted. When it happened the first time, I did a deep format and no error was found.

Looses Pictures

vICKI m., Newegg
18 February 2012
  • Summary: I am going to see if I can get a new card sent out to me and hopefully it wont have the problem.
  • Pros: When it works its fine and is pretty fast.
  • Cons: Looses Files I have to use CardRecovery every time I need to get Pictures off of the Memory card. I went to spain, Israel, Morrocco and lost a ton of pictures the good news is that the card Recovery recovered pretty much all of them its just real annoying.

Big Scam

Shailesh G., Newegg
10 December 2011
  • Pros: Low price
  • Cons: I bought this card to capture moments on our recent cruise to the Bahamas. I took about 100 pictures of our brief stay on the island on this card to add to about the same number I had taken the night before aboard the cruise ship. That evening we returned to the ship to depart the islands and I was capturing the beautiful sunset and right before my eyes while I was browsing the pictures on the cam. a whole chunk of pictures disappeared !! Its been about a month now an...

Read this before you buy

Yankee T., Newegg
25 October 2011
  • Summary: I've used many different cards. This is the only card that lost all my footage, and it did it twice in one week! the first time it happened I thought it was an issue with the card reader I was using. I never thought it could be the SD card. But it happened again on my next shoot using a different camera and card reader. All the footage shot on it was lost in an instant! Just gone! Nothing there.
  • Pros: Price
  • Cons: Lost all my files!!! (it also runs out of buffer at times which is odd for a class 10)

Works as expected

Boyd C., Newegg
11 October 2011
  • Summary: I bought a pair of these for a Nikon D7000 16mp early this year. Currently my shutter count is over 4100 photos mostly stored on the Centon. On a few shoots I used a PNY. I rarely use more than 4gb before uploading and erasing. I shoot in RAW format so the card will hold over 900 photos. If you shoot in JPEG at the best quality (4928 x 3264) it will store 2200+. And yes it works with the D7000 HD video. I have played with it shooting a few 4 and 5 minute videos.
  • Pros: works - speed? it ain't slow. The warranty was honored without too many questions. I said it didn't work all the time, they sent a new one. 32gb is a lot of photographs.
  • Cons: Twice the card gave my camera a write error. The D7000 has two slots so all I needed to do is pull the offending card and use the secondary. The failure came at near 300 photos. I missed a couple of pictures. But the previous pictures remained intact. An email to Centon quickly gave me a return #. I mailed it in a common envelope and received a replacement in a few days.

BEWARE - QUALITY ISSUES! Not worth the savings

Elliot S., Newegg
29 August 2011
  • Summary: PLEASE, IF EVEN ONE PERSON LEARNS FROM MY MISTAKES -- PAY A FEW EXTRA DOLLARS AND GET A GOOD NAME BRAND! I normally don't like it when people rate a product 1 star only because they got a defect rather than reviewing the actual product, but for a commodity like an SD card, its speed and reliability are the ONLY two factors to rate it on.
  • Pros: Cheap price; Class 10 speed rating
  • Cons: I bought this for my brand new Canon ELPH 300HS because it was the cheapest 32GB Class 10 card, and I've never had a problem using other off-brands. I low-level formatted it in my camera and took about 50 test shots and videos and seemed to work fine. Then I took it on vacation and took about 500 photos and videos over 1 week. When I came home, only about 450 downloaded. I remembered MANY photos I took that simply weren't on the SD card. Dozens of other pictures on th...
