It features a storage capacity of 4GB or 8GB, and it has various colour designs depending on its storage size such as Ivory (for 4GB) or Onyx Black (for 8GB). Features

The Transcend T.sonic 850 measures at 0.5-inch (1.3cm) in height, 3.2-inch (8.1cm) in width, 1.6-inch (4.1cm) in depth and 1.7 ounce (48.19 grams) in weight with Li-ion battery. The display measuring at 1.8-inch (4.6cm) provides a screen resolution of 176-by-220-pixels with 65K colour TFT screen. The T.sonic 850 features 3-phase wheel navigator on the side of the player, built-in microphone, mini-USB connector, 3.5mm headphone jack, and it comes with a 4GB or 8GB of internal flash memory for storing files, plus it also supports USB 2.0 connectivity. Besides the music player and playback function, the phone also has a built in FM radio (Worldwide frequency of 87.5~108 MHz, Japan frequency of 76~90 MHz), Direct FM recording, and can store up to 20 preset frequencies, and the T.sonic 850 also supports audio format such as MP3, WMA, WMA-DRM10 and WAV, MTV video format, IMA_ADPCM (WAV) for recording format, photo format such as JPG and BMP, plus e-book format of TXT files. It also comes with compression rates of 32Kbps to 320Kbps, erase cycles which equals to 100,000 times, signal and noise ratio of 90dB and it also compliance according to CE, FCC and BSMI regulations. The T.sonic 850 is also compatible with Linux, Mac OS X, or Windows operating system. Its PC Lock feature turns the T.sonic 850 into a digital key for your notebook, locking it when the T.sonic 850 is not plugged in. PC Lock prevents others from getting to your desktop by simply unplugging the T.sonic 850. The Partition feature enables user to create a password-protected area on the device for storing personal files. The voice-activated recorder (which user can power on by pressing the red Record button on the right side of the player) enables user to automatically begin recording when it registers a sound and pause itself when it cannot detect noise. The device displays interface in 13 different languages and has other bells and whistles like a World Clock, Karaoke Lyrics-sync, Equalizer Presets, and Custom EQ settings among other small additions. Other accessories include earphones, bundled Windows-only Transcend MTV Converter software, neck strap, Software CD like Transcend Utility and USB Data-cable. The device is powered by a rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery and the battery life can last up to 22 hours of audio playback and 2.5 hours of video playback. As for normal usage which comprise of mix of radio and MP3 listening as well as photo and video playback, its battery life can last up to 10 hours.
