Bookmark add and retrieval function not working; back arrow button causes unit to power itself off

Hugh McCollum, Amazon

  • Summary: Initially, when I first received this MP870 mp3 player - I thought that, at long last, I had found the perfect mp3 digital player. I was so impressed with the features that this player offered and after downloading and reading the owner's manual for it - before this 8GB player had even arrived, I decided to also order a 4gb version of the MP870 as well.

My friend likes it so much, I just purchased one for me!

VivK, Amazon
21 August 2014
  • Summary: I purchased this for a friend, and he loves it! It's easy to use, sounds great, and comes with extra accessories. Also, with the 8 GB, it holds a lot of music and lecture mp3s. It comes with a small quick start guide, but you really need the user manual to figure out the recorder. It's not easy to find the manual download on their site, so the best way is to go to their site and type 870 in the search box, and don't type anything else.

Don't buy Transcend

Christoph L. Dickenson, Amazon

  • Summary: Got this MP3 player, and the headphone jack didn't work. Kind of nullifies the reason to have an MP3 player. Spend a little more and buy an iPod nano.

  • Summary: A great product and one of the best mps/fm systems for the price and quality. I still own the last models that's made with metal and it's still keeping a full charge and working great also. A MUST BUY!

Quality and Durability!

  • Summary: I purchased a 4gb 840 model from Transcend about 6 or 7 years ago and it had lasted and given me great usage. I'm very pleased to have another very simple and easy to use electronic device for music, which I don't have to fuss with. It's fabulous!

Great for Audio Books

knighttime "sixtysix", Amazon
3 May 2013
  • Summary: I bought this player primarily for listening to audio books. So far it is perfect for the application. When you stop listening and pause or turn it off, the audio will resume exactly where you left off when you turn it back on. Bookmarks are easy to place if you might want to listen to multiple books in the same period. The capacity is more than adequate. I installed a Micro SD card and loaded 20 mp3 books on it and it's not even half full.

Transcend TS8G MP870 (white): Could be excellent with a few tweaks

Rene Melek "Nylon Hymnist", Amazon
27 October 2012
  • Summary: This device is a combination of some features that are truly excellent, and other that are equally frustrating. The GOOD: sounds good and offers several enhancements, including one user customizable setting; decent battery life, though only about 75% of what's advertised (inflated claims for battery life is the norm throughout the industry); functional gel case that stays on well, and does its job; drag and drop for tracks that doesn't require "iTunes" or "Windows Media...
