Tonium Pacemaker (60GB)

CNET
25 March 2011
  • Summary: The Pacemaker is a fun tool for DJs on the go. It's not our first choice for playing a DJ gig, but it gets the job done, and the price is a fair reflection of its features and portable design.
  • Pros: The second-generation of the DJ-friendly Pacemaker MP3 player offers a more affordable price than the original model, and new features, such as automatic tempo matching, expanded effects, audio time-stretching, and a master EQ.
  • Cons: The slashed price of the Pacemaker comes at the cost of a smaller hard drive, and the complaints we had about the previous model's complicated interface design haven't changed.

Tonium Pacemaker (120 GB)

CNET
20 June 2008
  • Summary: As a pocket-size sketchpad for DJs on the go, the Pacemaker is peerless.
  • Pros: The Tonium Pacemaker is a DJ-oriented portable audio player with professional-grade audio quality, switchable headphone impedance, Mac and PC compatibility, and an inventive mix recording feature.
  • Cons: The Pacemaker's price may be too high for armchair DJs and its features and form too restrictive for club use. Like most DJ equipment, the Pacemaker takes some practice to master.

Tonium Pacemaker

PC Pro
13 May 2008
  • Excerpt: There are plenty of products around targeted at MP3 mixing, but none are as compact as Tonium's quirky-looking Pacemaker. And while it won't compete with products such as Numark's iDJ2 iPod mixing system, it does offer a surprisingly powerful feature set. You can beat match, create loops, and the touch-sensitive controls work brilliantly.
